Job summary

YTL AI Labs in Malaysia is seeking a Senior AI Frontend Engineer to own the design and delivery of web and native iOS/Android experiences that bring AI capabilities to government and enterprise users.

You will lead frontend architecture, drive streaming UI components, integrate LLM features, and ensure performance and security across web and mobile apps, with mentorship and strong collaboration with product and backend teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience building web and/or native iOS/Android applications in production.
• Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, and modern web tooling (Next.js).
• Solid knowledge of Swift/SwiftUI and/or Kotlin/Jetpack Compose for cross‑platform work.
• Experience integrating REST APIs and streaming interfaces (SSE/WebSockets) into frontend apps.
• Understanding of LLMs, prompting, and AI product concepts with AI‑driven UX.
• Experience with CI/CD, deployment pipelines, and app release processes.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and delivery of React (TypeScript/Next.js) web applications that integrate AI.
• Own native iOS (Swift/SwiftUI) and Android (Kotlin/Jetpack) apps with AI features.
• Design chat, voice, and conversational UI components for streaming LLM responses.
• Lead integration of on‑device and cloud AI models for on‑device inference.
• Define and maintain API/SDK layers connecting apps to backend AI services.
• Set performance, latency, memory, and bundle‑size standards for AI features.
• Guide secure handling of user data and model outputs per guidelines.
• Mentor mid‑level and junior frontend engineers; drive code reviews and tech discussions.
