Job summary

ANGO Property Sdn Bhd, operating in Malaysia, is seeking a Senior Accounts Executive on-site in Kota Kinabalu to manage the hotel's day-to-day accounting operations, including full set of accounts, revenue reconciliation, and liaison with HQ finance in Kuala Lumpur.

You will be responsible for bank reconciliations, month-end closing, and financial reporting, with strong Excel and accounting software skills; prior hotel experience is a plus.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations.

Senior Accounts Executive - Kota Kinabalu

Based on-site at the new hotel operation in Kota Kinabalu, the Full Set Accountant manages the hotel's day-to-day accounting operations — maintaining the full set of accounts, reconciling daily revenue and collections, supporting night audit and closing, coordinating purchasing, and liaising closely with the HQ Finance team in Kuala Lumpur.

Key responsibilities

• Handle the full set of accounts, from daily transactions through to month-end closing
• Manage Accounts Receivable (A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P), and the General Ledger
• Prepare payment vouchers, invoices, receipts, and journal entries
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations
• Prepare month-end closing and financial reports
• Review and reconcile daily hotel revenue
• Reconcile cash collections with total receipts/vouchers, particularly cash received at guest check-in
• Verify credit card, online payment, and other collection methods
• Investigate discrepancies and follow up with the relevant department
• Coordinate with the Resident Manager / Front Office on daily closing matters

About you

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Experience handling a full set of accounts
• Familiar with hotel daily revenue and closing procedures
• Familiar with OTA revenue and collection reconciliation
• Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
• Able to identify discrepancies and investigate the reasons
• Responsible and trustworthy in handling cash and financial information
• Able to work independently and communicate effectively with HQ
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Experience with accounting software; SQL Accounting experience is an advantage
