Job summary

EcoFirst Consolidated Bhd is seeking an experienced senior accounting professional to manage full set of accounts, oversee month-end closes, and ensure statutory compliance across group entities.

The role demands strong MFRS knowledge, consolidation experience, and the ability to mentor junior staff while delivering timely, accurate financial reports and budgets.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or related field with recognised professional qualification.
• 5+ years post-qualification experience in a similar role or full set of accounts.
• Experience with group consolidation and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of MFRS, Bursa Listing Requirements and tax regulations.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and deadline focus.

Responsibilities

• Manage full set of accounts for assigned entities and intercompany transactions.
• Lead month-end close, prepare schedules, variance analyses and reports.
• Ensure compliance with MFRS, Companies Act 2016, tax regulations, and Bursa Malaysia.
• Mentor Accounts Executives/Assistants and review work for accuracy.
• Maintain fixed asset register, internal controls and budgeting oversight.
• Provide timely financial reporting and guidance to management.

Job description

To manage and oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, support statutory compliance, and provide guidance to junior accounting staff within the Group.

Key responsibilities

Maintain full set of accounts including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) for assigned companies / projects

Ensure compliance with MFRS, Companies Act 2016, Income Tax regulations, Bursa Malaysia requirements and internal policies

Prepare debit/credit notes, and journal entries for verification

Perform bank reconciliations and ensure all control accounts are accurately reconciled

Lead month-end closing activities and ensure timely completion, prepare monthly financial schedules, management reports and variance analyses

Prepare financial reports/statements or summaries as required by management

Monitor project budget, track project expenditure against budget and prepare monthly cashflow forecast

Guide, review and mentor Accounts Executives / Accounts Assistants

Implement and monitor internal controls and accounting procedures

Update and maintain fixed asset register

About you

A Degree in Accounting, or a related field with a recognised professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent

5 years of post-qualification solid experience in a similar role, or hands-on experience in full set of accounts or 3 years of relevant audit experience preferred

Experienced in group consolidation and group reporting

Good knowledge of accounting software, Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Words

Good knowledge of MFRSs, Bursa Listing Requirements and tax regulations

Good analytical and problem-solving skills with the capacity to interpret complex financial data

High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Fluent English and Bahasa Melayu language proficiency

Self-motivated, detail-oriented and proactive approach to problem solving
