Responsibilities

Review and finalise monthly closing and year-end in line with standards.
Maintain chart of accounts and fixed asset registers.
Coordinate inventory and petty cash counts.
Prepare corporate tax provisions and monitor tax payable.
Liaise with auditors and tax agents on compliance matters.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cost monitoring.

Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Accounts Executive to oversee the full set of accounts and support the company’s financial reporting and accounting functions. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with MPERS, Malaysian tax regulations and statutory requirements, while providing accurate and timely financial information to support management decision-making, audits, and tax matters. The Senior Accounts Executive also plays a key role in strengthening internal controls, enhancing operational efficiency, and leading budgeting, forecasting, and cost-monitoring activities to support the company’s financial objectives.

What you'll be doing

To review and finalise monthly and year-end closing in accordance with the approved accounting standards.
To maintain account master files and the chart of accounts.
To maintain fixed asset registers and conduct periodic checks.
To coordinate periodic inventory and petty cash count.
To compute corporate tax provisions and estimate tax payable.
To conduct estate performance analysis and cost monitoring.
Coordinate with the estate and prepare the yearly budget.
Liaise and coordinate with the auditor and tax agent on the compliance matters.
To prepare yearly transfer pricing documentation.
To provide accounting guidance and assistance to subordinate and estate staff to resolve operations accounting-related matters.
To renew estate-related licenses and subscription payments.
To recommend work process flow improvement and efficiency.
To assist and coordinate with stakeholders in the new system planning and implementation.
Support ad-hoc accounting projects.
Any other works assigned by superior.

What we're looking for

Degree in Accounting/Finance, or passed professional examination.
Knowledge of MPERS and Malaysian tax regulations.
Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Autocount Accounting Software and Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of ERP systems or plantation software is an added advantage.
Integrity, initiative and self-motivated with high emotional intelligence.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Posses strong leadership with positive attitude and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
Willing to work extra hours and travel when required.
