Job summary

JAC Recruitment International in Malaysia is a consultancy with offices across several countries, focusing on supporting Japanese businesses. We are seeking a seasoned finance professional to manage full sets of accounts and lead a small accounting team.

You will oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes, coordinate with auditors and tax agents, ensure SST/corporate tax compliance, and drive continuous process improvements in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Accounting/Finance
• ACCA/CPA/MIA certification (preferred)
• Minimum 6 years of accounting/outsourcing experience with team leadership
• Strong knowledge of full sets of accounts under MFRS/MPERS
• Proficient in Excel and accounting systems (QB, SQL, Xero, SAP)
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Independent, proactive, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Japanese language proficiency is an added advantage

Responsibilities

• Manage full range of accounting and financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, year-end).
• Review records, reports, and group packages for accuracy and compliance.
• Oversee SST, withholding tax, corporate tax filings, and deferred tax computations.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax agents, and company secretaries.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team; drive process improvements.
• Stay updated on accounting standards and regulatory changes.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and management reporting.
• Participate in strategic process improvement initiatives.
