Job summary

APAC Michael Page is seeking a Senior Accountant in Kuala Lumpur to manage general accounting functions, ensure timely financial statements, and support budgeting and forecasting in a dynamic Professional Services environment.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in accounting/finance, CPA/ACCA, and FP&A/financial reporting experience, with strong Excel skills. You will mentor junior staff and help strengthen internal controls within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting/Finance.
• CPA/ACCA or equivalent.
• FP&A and financial reporting experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports in compliance with accounting standards.
• Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in tax audits and filings.
• Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Assist in the implementation and improvement of accounting systems and processes.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff.
