Job summary

BH Packaging Supplies Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to prepare accurate monthly financial statements and management reports while overseeing the general ledger, journal entries, and reconciliations.

You will supervise junior staff, assist in budgeting and cash flow management, ensure tax compliance, liaise with auditors, and look for improvements in internal controls and reporting systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Professional qualifications (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS.
• Proficiency in accounting systems (AutoCount, SQL, ERP).
• Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modelling an advantage).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and management reports.
• Manage general ledger, journal entries, and monthly reconciliations.
• Oversee and review accounts payable/receivable transactions.
• Assist in budgeting, cash flow management, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and statutory bodies.
• Monitor and improve internal controls, accounting processes, and reporting systems.
• Support management with financial insights for decision-making.
• Supervise junior accounting staff and provide guidance where necessary.
• Handle ad-hoc finance or administrative projects assigned by management.
