Job summary

Tamasek Group Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced accounting professional to manage financial reporting and GL activities in a manufacturing setting. The role involves preparing timely financial statements, ensuring compliance, and supporting budgeting and forecasting processes.

You will lead a small accounting team, mentor junior staff, and work toward strengthening internal controls and process improvements while adhering to regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent preferred
• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP)
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
• Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights to management
• Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits
• Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures
• Mentor junior accounting staff and review their work
• Assist in process improvements and system implementations
