Job summary

Sophic Automation Sdn Bhd in Penang, Batu Kawan, is seeking a Semiconductor Assembly Operator to operate and monitor assembly machines, perform machine setup and calibration, and handle wafers and dies under a microscope. You will conduct visual inspections for defects, record production data, follow SOPs and safety rules, maintain cleanroom protocols, and support yield enhancement.

Basic computer literacy and willingness to rotate shifts are required; 1–2 years in semiconductor manufacturing

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing preferred; candidates with no experience are welcome to apply.
• Familiarity with semiconductor assembly equipment.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and follow technical instructions and drawings.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Willingness to work in a cleanroom and rotate shifts.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Must possess own transportation to commute to the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor assembly machines and processes.
• Perform machine setup, calibration, and minor troubleshooting.
• Handle semiconductor wafers and dies using precision tools under a microscope.
• Conduct visual inspections for defects such as non-stick and misalignment.
• Record production data and report abnormalities.
• Follow SOPs, work instructions, and safety guidelines.
• Maintain cleanroom protocols including ESD and gowning requirements.
• Support yield enhancement and efficiency strategies.
• Provide machine coverage during breaks and ensure proper shift pass-downs.
• Participate in training and certification programs.
