Job summary

PERSOL Malaysia is seeking a Buyer / Procurement Executive (Sole Contributor) in Penang to manage end-to-end procurement for semiconductor materials, components, and services.

The role requires coordinating with Planning, Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing, negotiating terms, and ensuring on-time delivery while controlling costs. 2–3 years purchasing experience and ERP/MRP knowledge preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is required.
• 2–3 years of relevant purchasing/procurement experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (SAP/Oracle or similar).

Responsibilities

• Review material requirements and generate purchase orders to support production needs.
• Procure materials, components, spare parts, consumables and services.
• Monitor open POs and ensure on-time delivery; adjust orders as needed.
• Source, evaluate and develop reliable suppliers to meet business needs.
• Monitor supplier performance on Cost, Quality, and Delivery (CQD).
• Obtain quotations and negotiate pricing, MOQs, payment terms and lead times.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and monitor market trends affecting procurement costs.
• Manage material availability, inventory levels and supply risks; support NPI and engineering changes.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Logistics and Finance to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain procurement data in ERP/MRP systems and track procurement KPIs.
