Job summary

United Overseas Bank Malaysia seeks an experienced SRE/DevOps professional to join the InnoHub2 team. The role focuses on stabilizing critical cybersecurity platforms, automating workflows, and ensuring operational excellence within a banking environment.

You will work with Splunk, Grafana and other observability tools, implement IaC, and participate in on-call and DR activities, contributing to reliable and scalable services for the bank.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in engineering/CS/IT/Cyber Security from a recognized institution.
• Cyber Security product certifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
• Strong Linux and Windows administration and incident management.

Responsibilities

• Support GIS Security Engineering Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) capability.
• Improve reliability, scalability, observability, automation and operational excellence of cybersecurity platforms.
• Operate and support SIEM, Syslog, XDR, HIPS, CyberArk, SOAR and related platforms.
• Develop automation using Python, Ansible, APIs and IaC.
• Define and track SLIs/SLOs and maintain runbooks and SOPs.
• Participate in on-call support and disaster recovery tests.

Job Responsibilities

Support the establishment and maturation of the GIS Security Engineering Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) capability. Responsible for improving reliability, scalability, observability, automation and operational excellence of critical cybersecurity platforms supporting Cyber Defence Engineering and Infrastructure Security Engineering.

Operate and support SIEM, Syslog, XDR, HIPS, CyberArk, SOAR, TIP, NDR, IPS and related security platforms.

Perform proactive monitoring, health checks, incident response, problem management and root cause analysis.

Develop automation using Python, Ansible, APIs and Infrastructure-as-Code principles.

Implement and maintain observability dashboards using Splunk, Grafana and monitoring platforms.

Define and track SLIs, SLOs and Error Budgets for critical services.

Maintain runbooks, SOPs and knowledge management artifacts.

Support production handover and operational readiness reviews with Engineering and Solution Architecture teams.

Participate in on-call support, disaster recovery and resilience testing.

Job Requirements

Education

Diploma/Degree in engineering/Computer Science / IT/Cyber Security from a recognized education institution.

Cyber Security product certifications will be favorable although not mandatory.

Technical Skills

5-8 years experience in SRE, DevOps, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering or Security Engineering.

Strong Linux and/or Windows administration skills.

Experience with Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus or equivalent observability tools.

Hands-on scripting with Python, PowerShell or equivalent.

Experience with Ansible, APIs and automation frameworks.

Good understanding of networking, distributed systems and incident management.

Experience with CyberArk, XDR, HIPS or SIEM platforms preferred.

Strong documentation and process discipline.

Other Requirements

Willingness to participate in on-call support duty.

Experience in banking or regulated environments is advantageous.
