Job summary

AT&S Malaysia in Kulim Hi-Tech Park is seeking a Section Manager - Industrial Engineering to lead the IE team, develop capacity models, and drive lean improvements across processes. You will collaborate with Production Planning, Production, and Engineering to ensure capacity aligns with customer demand.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in industrial/manufacturing engineering, 8+ years in IE with at least 3 in leadership, and strong skills in Excel and Power BI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in Industrial Engineering, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong knowledge in capacity planning, time study, and productivity improvement.
• Proficient in Excel, Power BI, and other IE-related tools.
• Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the IE team to meet departmental goals and KPIs.
• Establish and maintain accurate capacity models for each process and product line.
• Conduct time studies to define standard operation times (SOT) and identify process bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with Production Planning, Production, and Engineering to ensure capacity aligns with customer demand.
• Drive layout optimization, line balancing, and manpower planning for efficiency improvement.
• Analyse process performance data to identify and eliminate non–value-added activities.
• Support new product introduction (NPI) with line setup, capacity study, and productivity baseline.
• Lead continuous improvement and cost reduction projects using lean manufacturing methodologies.
• Develop training plans to enhance IE team’s technical capability and problem-solving skills.
