Job summary

RHB Banking Group seeks an experienced Section Head to lead the Mainframe System Services team, ensuring 24x7 availability of core banking mainframe systems. You will guide capacity planning, budgeting, and change management while coordinating with senior leadership on KPIs and migration programs.

You will oversee mainframe hardware/software, third-party products, DR/testing, and compliance. Strong leadership, IT governance, and ASEAN market experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma or Degree in Information Technology or equivalent.
• At least 7 years’ experience supporting and operating group IT infrastructure with advanced expertise in IBM System z architecture and z/OS environment.
• Strong knowledge of Host LPAR design, high availability, mainframe products (CICS, VTAM, NETWORK, ZEKE, MOBIUS, etc.), and backup systems.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively across organizational levels.
• Experience managing budgets, vendor relationships, and IT compliance audits.
• Strong analytical, planning, and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Mainframe System Services team in managing core banking system hardware and software to ensure 24x7x365 availability.
• Forecast capacity growth and manage annual CAPEX and OPEX budgets to support technology refresh and cost optimization.
• Collaborate with senior management to set objectives and KPIs for team performance and service delivery improvement.
• Oversee installation, configuration, tuning, monitoring, and support of mainframe systems and related third-party products (e.g., ZEKE, ZARA, LCM, Mobius).
• Manage disaster recovery planning, testing, and compliance to meet defined recovery time and point objectives.
• Lead change management, incident response, and IT Service Management practices to maintain system stability and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs, regulatory requirements, and quality control processes.
• Supervise projects related to mainframe systems and facilitate migration efforts in line with Group IT obsolescence policies.
• Drive vendor management, audit compliance, and precise documentation of system architecture and inventory.
• Promote continuous learning and adoption of new technologies within the team.

About the Role
