Job summary

ExploreWestMY invites applications for a Mathematics teacher to join our Malaysia team. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Education (or relevant subject) and a recognized teaching qualification, with at least three years of classroom experience in secondary education.

The role requires delivering differentiated lessons, using English language effectively, and knowledge of international curricula (e.g., Cambridge/IB).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Education or relevant subject area.
• Recognized teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, PGDT).
• Teaching experience (ideally minimum 3 years).
• Ability to teach across the secondary age and ability range.
• High level of proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Experience with an international curriculum (e.g. English NC; IB; Cambridge) is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated teaching and learning, setting clear learning intentions and ambitions.
• Know students and context to personalize learning for next steps.
• Maintain and develop schemes of learning aligned to school aims and global context.
• Innovate with teaching strategies and foster a culture of experimentation.
• Demonstrate confidence in learning platforms and ongoing professional learning.
• Set meaningful homework according to school policy.
• Establish a positive classroom climate and manage behaviour according to policies.
• Promote student well-being and safeguarding according to policies.
• Liaise with Learning Support and English Support for individual students.
• Contribute to academic language development within the subject area.
• Provide ongoing formative assessment and timely feedback on progress.
• Use baseline data to measure progress and tailor support.
• Uphold standards of academic integrity and adhere to school practices.
• Provide updates on progress to colleagues and parents as required.
