Job summary

AVEVA Asia Pacific Sdn Bhd is seeking a Search Engineer to join the Kuala Lumpur AI & Digital Delivery hub. You will shape and deliver fast, relevant search experiences across partner portals, leveraging Solr, Elasticsearch, and Alibaba OpenSearch to support product catalogues, docs, and knowledge bases.

You will design search architectures, optimize multi-region deployments, and develop relevancy models and AI-enhanced search features, collaborating with backend teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on experience with enterprise search platforms (Solr/Elasticsearch/OpenSearch).
• Strong back-end programming skills in C#, Python, or Java.
• Familiarity with NLP concepts for search and semantic understanding.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement search architecture for AVEVA platforms.
• Configure and optimize Solr/Elasticsearch/OpenSearch for multi-region workloads.
• Develop relevancy models, scoring, synonyms, and query analysis.
• Build search APIs, indexing pipelines, and AI-enhanced search features.
• Monitor performance and continuously improve search quality based on metrics.
• Work with backend teams to integrate search into customer portals.
