Job description

SCM Officer (Material Controller/Buyer/Procurement/Warehouse)

Determining the required materials and generating purchase orders.

To ensure materials meet specifications, and quality standards, and are cost-efficient.

To ensure the consistent and adequate supply of materials necessary for production.

To coordinate with other departments regarding production goals, timelines, etc.

Tracking production volume and monitoring customer demand patterns and purchasing trends.

Scheduling and overseeing the supply and delivery of materials and products.

Liaising with customers, suppliers, production planners and production.

Managing inventory issues, schedule changes, and cancellations.

Preparing cost estimates and performance reports.

Warehouse

Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities.

Organize and maintain inventory and storage area.

Ensure shipments and inventory transactions accuracy.

Interface to answer questions or solve problems.

Maintain items record, document necessary information and utilize reports to project warehouse status.

Identify areas of improvement and establish innovative or adjust existing work procedures and practices.

Confer and coordinate activities with other departments.

Buyer

Communicate and drive implementation of Global strategies, market trend, and negotiable price/terms so as to provide internal customers with optimal supply assurance, flexibility, and quality and delivery performance./ Lead team toward company directive (KPI).

Account for negotiating with suppliers to cancel and push out open PO to optimize inventory position./ Identifies opportunities for operational excellence and cost-saving in the areas of subcontracting jobs.

Work closely with the operations team to support strategic sourcing projects, ODM/OEM projects, and strategic customer bids.

Ensure the complete follow-through of projects supports from managing the product/supplier sourcing to execution to supplier delivery and quality.

Review and negotiable supply contracts, subcontractor agreements and other terms and conditions.

Develop documents and supplies list to obtain competitive quotations on commodities and services./ Identify, track and implement opportunities for materials cost reduction.

Analyze current procurement activities and recommends improvement through more efficient procurement methods./ Expedite outstanding purchase orders to ensure delivery requirements are met.

Procurement

Oversee the SCM function for the smooth operation in material and service supply to meet company objectives.

Ensure the procurement basic policy & strategy will be complied and executed by the Buyer.

Review the purchasing processes and update the procedure as deem necessary to enhance for quality compliance.

Lead the purchasing team to meet the mid term plan for KPI achievement.

Commodity management to ensure the supply chain is connected to the production.

Approving purchase orders and organizing and confirming delivery of goods and services.

Guidance to buyers from time to time as required of purchasing function.

Regularly review for potentially improve the purchasing process through the information technology.

As auditee to support for SCM purchasing function compliance in QMS.

Optimize the level of the purchase volume to avoid the huge excess impact the inventory holding cost.

Job requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma in Business administration, logistics, inventory management, or a related field.

2 years of experience in material planning, inventory management, purchasing, or a related position will be added advantage.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and material management systems.

Knowledge in ERP system will be added advantage.
