Job summary

Tzu Chi International School Kuala Lumpur is seeking a dedicated School Nurse to provide clinical care, triage students, and coordinate with parents and teachers on health matters. You will maintain student health records, manage medications, and support a safe, hygienic health center environment.

The role requires a Nursing Diploma with at least 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in a school setting. English and Bahasa Malaysia communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• At least a Diploma in Nursing or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year working experience as a nurse.
• Experience in school environment or dealing with children is an advantage.
• IT literate and able to communicate well in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care and first aid to students and respond to medical emergencies according to school procedures.
• Inform and coordinate with parents and teachers regarding student health concerns and illnesses.
• Maintain accurate health records and ensure confidentiality of medical information.
• Administer and monitor prescribed medications with proper documentation and storage.
• Manage health center inventory and stock levels of medical supplies and equipment.
• Adhere to health regulations, school policies and professional nursing standards.
• Carry out daily maintenance tasks including cleaning routines and laundry management for the health center and related areas.

Job Responsibilities:

Clinical Care & First Aid

Assess students who present with symptoms, illnesses, or injuries and provide appropriate care.

Deliver basic first aid in cases of accidents or sudden illness.

Respond promptly and appropriately to medical emergencies, following established procedures.

Communication & Parent Coordination

Inform and advise parents to collect students who are unwell or may have contagious conditions.

Communicate promptly with parents and teachers regarding student health concerns and emergencies.

Provide clear updates on students' conditions and required follow-up actions.

Health Records & Documentation

Maintain accurate and up-to-date health and medical records for all students.

Ensure proper documentation following each student visit.

Ensure confidentiality and proper filing of all medical information.

Medication Management

Administer and monitor prescription medications in accordance with instructions from parents and healthcare professionals.

Ensure safe handling, storage, and documentation of all medications.

Educate students on personal hygiene, including handwashing, infection prevention, and general health practices.

Promote awareness of health and safety within the school environment.

Ensure the healthcare centre is clean, well-ventilated, and sanitised at all times and maintain a safe and comfortable environment for students.

Carry out daily maintenance tasks, including morning and afternoon cleaning routines and Laundry management

Inventory & Supplies Management

Monitor and maintain adequate levels of medical supplies and equipment.

Conduct regular stock checks and ensure timely replenishment of items.

Compliance & Professional Practice

Stay informed on public health guidelines and comply with all relevant health regulations and school policies.

Adhere to professional nursing standards and best practices.

Job Requirements:

At least a Diploma in Nursing or equivalent;

Minimum 1 year working experience as a nurse.

Experience in school environment or dealing with children will be added advantage.

IT literate and able to communicate well in English and Bahasa Malaysia;

Good interpersonal skills, possess great love and caring spirit.

Working Hour: 7.00am - 4.30pm
