Job description

Stellaire International is seeking passionate, dedicated and experienced School Counsellor to support the wellbeing of our Primary and Secondary students.

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about supporting students’ social emotional and mental wellbeing through professional counselling, early intervention, wellbeing programmes and appropriate student support.

Key responsibilities:

Provide screening, counselling and mental health support to students.

Serve as a crisis responder in the crisis management team, providing timely support and response during critical incidents, and coordinating with relevant team members to ensure swift action.

Plan, organise, and lead structured programmes and initiatives to educate staff and students about disabilities, including understanding conditions like autism spectrum (ASD) and attention-deficit/ hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), as well as effective classroom management strategies.

Prepare and maintain all required records and reports. Document therapy in accordance with policies and procedures.

Stay updated on new developments in the field by reading professional literature, attending courses and seminars, and networking with other mental health agencies.

Gather information about community mental health needs and resources that could be used in conjunction with therapy.

Conduct theme-based training and consultation for staff and students on different topics.

Job Requirement

Possess at least a Bachelor’s or Master in Degree in Counselling, Psychology or a related field.

Registered Counsellor in Malaysia, where applicable, or possess relevant professional registration or certification.

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in an educational environment is mandatory.

Experience in individual and group counselling, student wellbeing support and crisis intervention.

Good knowledge of student safeguarding, confidentiality, referral procedures and professional counselling practices.

Able to handle sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism and sound judgement.

Willing to work in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur.
