Overview

We are undergoing a significant transformation from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA, with the integration of SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). We are seeking a Senior SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP Test Senior Consultant to drive the testing strategy and execution for SAP S/4HANA applications, SAP BTP services, and custom developments to ensure high-quality and seamless implementation. The role involves both functional and technical testing across various SAP modules to ensure that SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, and related applications meet business needs and technical requirements.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, SAP Fiori, and SAP Cloud applications, with expertise in testing methodologies including functional, integration, and performance testing. The consultant will lead the testing team, collaborating with business and technical stakeholders to drive the overall testing lifecycle.

Key Job Responsibilities

1. Test Strategy and Planning:
   • Develop and implement the testing strategy for SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP services, applications, and custom developments, ensuring alignment with project goals, timelines, and quality standards.
   • Define comprehensive test plans for different testing phases (unit testing, integration testing, user acceptance testing, regression testing, etc.) across SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP modules.
   • Coordinate with functional and technical teams to create detailed test scripts, scenarios, and cases based on business requirements and system configurations.
   • Ensure that all testing activities align with the client’s transformation roadmap and timelines.
2. Test Execution and Management:
   • Lead the execution of various test phases, including functional testing, integration testing, regression testing, and performance testing for SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP applications and services.
   • Ensure end-to-end testing of SAP applications, including SAP S/4HANA modules (Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, etc.), SAP BTP services, custom developments, and Fiori applications.
   • Ensure comprehensive test coverage by validating business processes across SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP, including integrations between SAP modules and third-party systems.
   • Provide regular updates on test progress, issues, and risks to stakeholders, ensuring clear visibility into testing status.
3. Quality Assurance and Issue Resolution:
   • Ensure quality of the SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP solution by identifying defects early and managing their resolution.
   • Perform root cause analysis of defects, working with development teams to ensure timely issue resolution.
   • Lead defect triage meetings, ensuring issues are tracked, prioritized, and resolved efficiently.
   • Conduct regression testing to ensure that defect fixes do not impact existing functionalities or integrations.
4. Test Automation Strategy:
   • Develop and implement test automation strategies for SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, and custom developments where applicable.
   • Collaborate with automation engineers to define test scripts and tools, ensuring efficiency in test execution and reduced manual testing efforts.
   • Implement test automation tools (e.g., SAP Solution Manager, Selenium, etc.) to support continuous testing and faster release cycles.
5. Collaboration with Stakeholders:
   • Work closely with business stakeholders, project managers, functional consultants, and technical teams to ensure test cases reflect business processes accurately and comprehensively.
   • Facilitate test case reviews, ensuring coverage of all business requirements and configurations.
   • Collaborate with development teams to understand custom developments and ensure proper testing aligned with functional specifications.
6. Test Reporting and Documentation:
   • Prepare test status reports, defect logs, and overall test summary reports for stakeholders, including senior leadership and project managers.
   • Provide regular updates on testing progress, risks, and delays that may impact the project timeline.
   • Document test results, test cases, and related activities to ensure knowledge transfer and traceability.
   • Ensure all testing deliverables are completed and meet the client’s quality standards.
7. User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Support:
   • Coordinate UAT activities with business users, ensuring testing reflects real-world business scenarios.
   • Provide guidance to UAT participants, helping them understand test cases, testing environment, and how to document issues encountered during testing.
   • Ensure successful UAT sign-off by business users, confirming that SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP solutions meet business requirements.
8. Performance and Load Testing:
   • Lead performance and load testing for SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP applications to ensure the system can handle peak loads and perform under stress.
   • Collaborate with infrastructure and SAP technical teams to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
   • Ensure system scalability and performance meet client requirements.
9. Test Environment Setup and Management:
   • Ensure proper test environments are available and aligned with production environments for accurate testing.
   • Manage configuration and deployment of test environments, ensuring required applications, tools, and integrations are ready for testing.
   • Monitor test environments and address issues affecting testing activities.
10. Continuous Improvement:
    • Continuously evaluate and improve testing processes, tools, and methodologies to increase efficiency, coverage, and quality.
    • Stay updated on the latest testing practices, tools, and SAP technologies, and incorporate best practices into the testing strategy.

Required Experience, Qualifications and Certifications

1. Professional Experience:
   • Minimum of 8-10 years of hands-on experience in SAP testing, with at least 5 years focused on SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP applications.
   • Proven experience in leading testing teams and managing large-scale SAP S/4HANA implementations and transformations.
   • Extensive experience in SAP S/4HANA functional modules (Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, etc.) and SAP BTP services.
   • Expertise in both manual and automated testing practices for SAP solutions, including tools like SAP Solution Manager, Selenium, or others.
   • Experience with integration testing between SAP S/4HANA and third-party applications (both SAP and non-SAP systems).
2. Educational Qualifications:
   • A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
   • SAP certifications in relevant areas such as SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, SAP Cloud applications, or testing methodologies (e.g., ISTQB) are highly desirable.
3. Technical Skills:
   • Deep understanding of SAP S/4HANA architecture and module functionality.
   • Hands-on experience with SAP BTP services, such as SAP Integration Suite, SAP Business Application Studio, and SAP Fiori apps.
   • Proficiency in SAP testing tools, particularly SAP Solution Manager, eCATT, and test automation frameworks.
   • Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA custom developments, including ABAP development, Fiori apps, and cloud applications.
   • Familiarity with performance testing tools and frameworks for SAP applications, such as LoadRunner or JMeter.
4. Methodology and Process:
   • Solid understanding of Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid methodologies for SAP testing.
   • Experience in developing and executing test scripts, test cases, and managing test environments for large-scale projects.
   • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines in a complex project environment.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in testing aviation-related SAP solutions or complex, industry-specific processes.
• Familiarity with cloud-based testing approaches and hybrid cloud environments (SAP on-premise and cloud solutions).
• Knowledge of SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) or other reporting tools in the SAP ecosystem.
