About the Role:
Grade Level (for internal use):
10
The Role:
The Sales Compensation Analyst (Governance & Incentive Operations) serves as the core operational and analytical execution hub of the Strategic Center of Excellence. Reporting directly to the US-based Finance Manager, you will be accountable for the end-to-end calculation, data reconciliation, and tracking of supplemental incentive programs, and strategic performance milestones.
The Team:
The Incentive Governance & Operations team is the operational backbone of S&P Global Market Intelligence's Strategic Center of Excellence in Penang - a disciplined, high-precision unit accountable for the end-to-end execution of global sales compensation programs. Working in close partnership with US-based Finance leadership, the team operates across geographies and time zones, combining analytical rigor with a governance-first mindset to protect the integrity of every incentive payout. If you are energized by structured problem-solving, thrive in a data-driven environment, and take pride in building systems that others rely on - this is your team.
Responsibilities and Impact:
- Execute end-to-end supplemental incentive calculations - encompassing data collection, eligibility verification, baseline validation, and custom commercial bonus processing - delivering accurate, audit-ready outputs within monthly payroll cutoff deadlines.
- Own the Salesforce (SFDC) compensation dispute queue: manage daily case resolution, conduct root-cause forensic investigations into payout discrepancies and crediting mismatches, and publish weekly queue health reports - maintaining SLA compliance across all active cases.
- Develop and maintain automated reconciliation scripts using SQL, Python/Pandas, or Alteryx to validate transaction inputs against source contract ledgers, identifying and correcting anomalies before payment is processed.
- Lead monthly KPI milestone tracking, performance scoring, and governance documentation - partnering with Revenue Operations and Data Architecture teams to automate data ingestion from CRMs and data warehouses into calculation models.
- Build and refresh operational Power BI and Salesforce dashboards tracking program spend, milestone attainment, and dispute resolution performance; compile and maintain SOX audit binders and management approval records to meet internal control requirements.
- Curate the central Sales Compensation Knowledge Center (SharePoint/Confluence) - authoring step-by-step SOPs, submission guides, calculation walk-throughs, and targeted FAQs to improve seller understanding and reduce repetitive inquiry volume.
What We're Looking For:
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years of analytical and operational experience in sales compensation, financial analysis, sales operations, or incentive management within a global corporate setting.
- Salesforce (SFDC): Direct working knowledge of Salesforce Case Management, case queues, routing rules, and reporting objects.
- Business Intelligence: Experience designing and publishing operational reports and dashboards in Power BI.
- Content & Knowledge Management: Practical experience administering knowledge management platforms, digital intranets, or content repositories (e.g., SharePoint, Confluence, Salesforce Knowledge).
- Compliance & Controls: Methodical approach to maintaining audit-ready documentation, process runbooks, and SOX control evidence.
- Data Automation: Practical experience utilizing Python (Pandas), Alteryx, or advanced Excel (Power Query, VBA macros) to automate reconciliations and repetitive calculations.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge Management: Experience administering knowledge management platforms or content repositories such as SharePoint, Confluence, or Salesforce Knowledge.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to translate complex compensation calculation logic into clear, seller-friendly documentation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Demonstrated experience partnering with regional payroll, revenue operations, and data architecture teams across multiple global time zones.
- M&A / Restructuring Support: Experience supporting data cleanup, seller mapping, and historical baseline analyses during corporate restructurings, M&A integrations, or system rollouts.
- Certification: Salesforce Administrator certification or equivalent formal Salesforce platform training.
- Forensic Analytics: Experience conducting structured investigations into payout discrepancies and compiling formal calculation workpapers for management review.
