Job summary

STAR GLORY ASIA (M) SDN. BHD. in Kuching, Malaysia, seeks a Sales Assistant to deliver exceptional service to international travelers in a Duty Free environment while achieving sales targets.

You will promote Duty Free products, handle transactions with POS, verify travel documents, and maintain presentational standards. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and 1–2 years in retail or customer service; multilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of retail or customer service experience (Duty Free, FMCG, beauty, liquor, or luxury retail preferred).
• Strong communication skills; multilingual ability is an advantage.
• Sales-driven with strong interpersonal skills.
• Basic numeracy and POS handling skills.
• Ability to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers in a professional and friendly manner.
• Actively promote and upsell Duty Free products (liquor, tobacco, perfumes, cosmetics, confectionery, chocolate etc.).
• Achieve individual, branch sales targets and KPIs.
• Provide product recommendations based on customer needs and travel destinations.
• Handle customer inquiries, complaints and returns professionally.
• Process sales transactions accurately using POS systems.
• Follow cash handling and reconciliation procedures.
• Verify boarding passes and travel documents as required for Duty Free sales compliance.
• Replenish gondola, wall bays and ensure products are well displayed according to merchandising guidelines.
• Maintain branch cleanliness and presentation standards.
