Job summary

ASMPT MALAYSIA SDN. BHD. seeks an experienced EHS Officer to implement and maintain the company's safety management system across manufacturing, warehouse, office and contractor activities. You will ensure OSHA compliance, maintain records, and coordinate inspections with DOSH/JKKP.

The role requires conducting HIRARC risk assessments, leading investigations into accidents and near-misses, and developing emergency plans and drills. Strong communication and training skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with OSHA 1994 (OSHA) and DOSH/JKKP requirements.
• Maintain safety records, reports, registers and documentation; coordinate DOSH inspections and follow-up actions.
• Conduct HIRARC/risk assessments and implement risk controls.
• Perform regular workplace safety inspections across production, warehouse, machinery, material handling, electrical work, chemicals, forklifts and contractor activities.
• Review machine guarding, emergency stops and other safety controls; promote safe operating procedures.
• Manage chemical safety including SDS, labeling, storage, handling and risk assessments.
• Lead accident, incident and near-miss investigations; identify root causes and track corrective actions to closure.
• Develop and maintain emergency response plans and coordinate drills.
• Manage contractor safety requirements, inductions, inspections and permit-to-work controls.
• Conduct safety induction and relevant training.
• Monitor safety performance; prepare KPI reports and drive continuous improvement.
• Support internal, customer and regulatory EHS audits and ensure timely closure of findings.
• Work with Safety & Health Committee to promote employee participation and safety improvement.
