Job summary

Adabi Consumer Industries Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks a competent Safety & Health Officer to lead ESH initiatives in a manufacturing environment. You will advise on safety measures, inspect workplaces, and drive accident investigations.

Required: endorsement by NIOSH or DOSH Green Book, a degree in Environmental & Occupational Health, 5+ years in manufacturing, strong OSHA knowledge, data analysis and reporting capabilities. A proactive team player is essential.

Qualifications

• Competent Safety Officer endorsed by NIOSH or register with DOSH (Green Book Holder).
• At least a Degree in Environmental & Occupational Health.
• Minimum 5 years' experience as Safety & Health Officer in manufacturing industry.
• Well versed in OSHA act & regulations.
• Experience in data analysis and reporting statistics.

Responsibilities

• Advise the employer or person in charge on safety and health measures.
• Inspect the place of work for risk of injury from machinery, equipment, or processes.
• Investigate accidents, near misses, dangerous occurrences, occupational poisoning or disease.
• Assist in organizing and implementing safety and health programs at the workplace.
• Become secretary to the safety and health committee and assist in inspections.
• Collect, analyze and maintain statistics on accidents and diseases.
• Assist in any matter pertaining to safety and health as directed by management.
• Oversee the subordinates and employees in the OSHE Unit.

Job description

Experience in Safety & Health, environment management especially related to manufacturing industries.

Experience and knowledge in ESH legal and other requirements (OSHA 1994 & EQA 1974)

To advise the employer or any person in charge of a place of work on the measures to be taken in the interest of the safety and health of the person employed in the place of work.

To inspect the place of work to determine whether the machinery, plant, equipment, substance, appliances or process or any description of manual labor to be used in the place of work is such liable to cause injury.

To investigate any accident, near miss accident, dangerous occurrence, occupational poisoning or occupational disease.

To assist the employer or the safety health committee in organizing and implementing safety and health program at the work place

To become secretary to the safety and health committee.

To assist the safety and health committee in any inspection.

To collect, analyses and maintain statistic on any accident, dangerous occurrence, occupational poisoning and occupational disease

To assist any officer in carrying made by the employer or any person in-charge of the place of work on any matter pertaining to safety and health.

To carry out any other instruction made by the employer or any person in charge of the place of work of the place of work on any matter pertaining to safety and health.

To oversight the subordinates and employees in the OSHE Unit

Other responsibilities and duties assigned and required by management.

Job Requirements
