GLOCOMP SYSTEMS (M) SDN BHD develops and deploys robotic solutions in Malaysia, focusing on humanoid and quadruped platforms with some aerial work. A Robotics Engineer will span software, robotics, AI, and hardware integration to meet project needs and customer requirements, followed by testing and deployment.
The role involves implementing robotics apps, integrating SDKs and APIs, and enabling AI capabilities across platforms with hardware peripherals.
We develop and deploy robotics solutions for real-world applications, primarily involving humanoid and quadruped robotic platforms, with occasional projects involving aerial systems.
As a Robotics Engineer, you will work across software development, robotics, AI applications, system integration, and hardware interfacing. You will integrate and customize existing technologies and solutions to meet project and customer requirements, followed by testing, commissioning, and deployment in real-world environments.
Develop and maintain robotics applications using Python and C++.
Integrate and customize existing robotics software, SDKs, APIs, and AI solutions.
Develop application-level functionality for humanoid, quadruped, and other robotic platforms.
Integrate AI capabilities such as computer vision, object detection, and AI-assisted applications.
Integrate cameras, LiDAR, IMU, GPS, networking equipment, and other sensors or peripherals.
Configure communication between robots, computers, sensors, and external systems.
Perform basic hardware, electrical, and network diagnostics to identify and isolate system issues.
Conduct functional and performance testing and support robotics proof-of-concept (POC) projects.
Debug and resolve issues across software, hardware, networking, and system integration layers.
Support system commissioning and deployment at customer sites.
Work with resellers and system integrators on technical integration and deployment.
Prepare technical documentation, system configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
Ad-hoc duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Degree or diploma in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related discipline.
Fresh graduates and candidates with 1–2 years of relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
Strong programming fundamentals in Python and/or C++.
Good understanding of software engineering principles, algorithms, data structures, and debugging.
Comfortable working in a Linux environment.
Strong analytical and systematic problem-solving skills.
Basic understanding of hardware, electronics, networking, and sensors.
Ability to understand, modify, and maintain existing software systems.
Comfortable working directly with robotic hardware and physical systems.
Good technical communication and documentation skills.
Willing to participate in customer-site deployments when required.
Experience with any of the following will be an advantage:
Commercial robotic platforms (e.g. AGV, Humanoid, Quadruped or Drone)
AI/LLM application integration
NVIDIA Jetson or other edge computing platforms
LiDAR, IMU, GPS, or other robotic sensors
Git, Docker, or TCP/IP networking
