We seek a Robotics Application Engineer to bridge pre-sales and engineering, translating customer requirements into actionable robotics solutions through design, demonstrations, POCs, and implementation support across diverse deployment environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in robotics, automation, application engineering, system integration, technical pre-sales, or a related technical role.
  • Strong understanding of robotics, automation systems, and system integration concepts.
  • Proficiency in Python and/or C++ is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with ROS/ROS2 concepts and robotics software environments is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with customers and internal stakeholders to understand operational workflows, pain points, and automation requirements.
  • Conduct technical discussions and site assessments to identify suitable robotics applications.
  • Translate business and operational requirements into technical solution requirements.
  • Assess technical feasibility, environmental constraints, integration requirements, and expected system performance.
  • Identify potential challenges affecting robotics implementation within customer environments.
  • Support the Sales team during technical discussions, customer presentations, and solution consultations.
  • Develop robotics solution concepts based on customer requirements and operational environments.
  • Configure and customise robotic systems according to customer applications and operational requirements.
  • Work with ROS2/AimRT, Linux, and NVIDIA Jetson-based robotics environments where applicable.
  • Work with engineering teams to adapt existing robotics capabilities for different applications and industries.
  • Support system testing, commissioning, implementation, and customer acceptance activities.

Job Summary:

The Robotics Application Engineer is a technical customer-facing role responsible for bridging pre-sales and engineering functions. The role focuses on understanding customer operational requirements and translating them into practical robotics solutions through solution design, product demonstrations, proof-of-concepts (POCs), implementation, and application engineering.

In MR. ROBOT's fast-moving environment, the Robotics Application Engineer works closely with customers, Sales, Robotics Engineering, AI, and Operations teams to take robotics capabilities and turn them into practical solutions that address real operational needs across retail, logistics, manufacturing, and other deployment environments.

Job Responsibilities:

Customer Requirement & Application Analysis

  • Engage with customers and internal stakeholders to understand operational workflows, pain points, and automation requirements.
  • Conduct technical discussions and site assessments to identify suitable robotics applications.
  • Translate business and operational requirements into technical solution requirements.
  • Assess technical feasibility, environmental constraints, integration requirements, and expected system performance.
  • Identify potential challenges affecting robotics implementation within customer environments.

Pre-Sales Technical Support & Solution Design

  • Support the Sales team during technical discussions, customer presentations, and solution consultations.
  • Develop robotics solution concepts based on customer requirements and operational environments.
  • Recommend suitable system configurations, application workflows, and integration approaches.
  • Provide technical input for proposals, solution specifications, project scoping, and implementation planning.
  • Communicate robot capabilities and technical considerations to support appropriate solution positioning.

Product Demonstration & Proof-of-Concept

  • Plan, prepare, and conduct robotics product demonstrations for customers and business partners.
  • Develop and execute proof-of-concepts (POCs) to validate robotics applications against customer requirements.
  • Configure robotic systems and workflows for demonstrations, trials, and customer-specific use cases.
  • Test robot behaviour and performance under customer-specific operating conditions.
  • Collect and analyse POC results and communicate technical findings to customers and internal teams.

Application Engineering & Implementation

  • Configure and customise robotic systems according to customer applications and operational requirements.
  • Support integration of robotic hardware with software platforms, sensors, network infrastructure, and customer systems.
  • Work with ROS2/AimRT, Linux, and NVIDIA Jetson-based robotics environments where applicable.
  • Support application-level configuration involving perception, VLA, and other robotics capabilities where required.
  • Work with engineering teams to adapt existing robotics capabilities for different applications and industries.
  • Support system testing, commissioning, implementation, and customer acceptance activities.

Customer Technical Support & Knowledge Transfer

  • Serve as a technical interface between customers, Sales, and internal engineering teams during solution development and implementation.
  • Explain system capabilities, technical limitations, and application requirements to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Conduct technical demonstrations, user training, and knowledge-transfer sessions where required.
  • Gather customer feedback and identify opportunities for solution enhancement.
  • Support customers during initial implementation to ensure effective adoption of the robotics solution.
  • Work closely with Sales, Robotics Engineering, AI, Robotics Integration, Service, and Operations teams throughout the customer solution lifecycle.
  • Provide engineering teams with structured feedback from customer requirements, POCs, demonstrations, and implementations.
  • Identify recurring application requirements that can be developed into scalable or reusable robotics solutions.
  • Share field findings and customer feedback to improve robot performance and future product development.
  • Contribute to improving solution design, implementation processes, technical
  • documentation, and application engineering practices.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in robotics, automation, application engineering, system integration, technical pre-sales, or a related technical role.
  • Strong understanding of robotics, automation systems, and system integration concepts.

  • Comfortable working with Linux environments.
  • Exposure to NVIDIA Jetson platforms or similar robotics computing environments is an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with robotics perception, VLA models, computer vision, or related AI capabilities is an added advantage.
  • Ability to understand customer operational requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions.
  • Experience with technical demonstrations, POCs, system implementation, or customer-facing engineering projects is an added advantage.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with a practical approach to solving real-world application challenges.
  • Good presentation and communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfortable interacting directly with customers and participating in technical discussions.
  • Able to work effectively across commercial and engineering functions.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working across different industries, customer environments, and
  • application requirements.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites for assessments, demonstrations, POCs, and implementation activities when required.
  • Strong interest in AI, robotics, and automation technologies.
