Job summary

Lima Bintang Logistics Sdn Bhd is seeking a Road Transport Safety Executive to oversee QHSE and transport safety compliance across our operations in Malaysia. You will monitor regulatory requirements, conduct audits, and support staff with safety procedures.

You will coordinate with the Transport Safety Manager, plan training, investigate incidents, and prepare reports. Strong communication and document management skills are essential to represent the company at external meetings.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree standard with relevant QHSE qualifications.
• Experience in road transport safety within logistics or chemical sectors preferred.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure compliance with statutory regulations and Lima Bintang standards.
• Assist Transport Safety Manager with planning, training, audits, and risk assessments.
• Prepare weekly/monthly safety and incident reports and maintain safety databases.
• Ensure drivers and vehicles meet safety requirements and participate in investigations.
• Represent the company at external QHSE meetings and coordinate with stakeholders.

In this role, you will monitor and assist with all QHSE & Security-related matters such as ISO/OHSAS 18001 requirements, Petronas RTOG, inspections, audits, and all supporting documentation.

A QHSE Engineer or Safety Officer is a role, which demands attention to detail in order to maintain safety systems on an operational basis as dictated, and in accordance with, the Logistics, Transport, workshop, and Warehouse standards best practices. As the QHSE Engineer or Safety Officer, it is your responsibility to ensure the procedures are followed as failure to do so can result in legal prosecutions against the company.

Road Transport Safety Executive job description include:

Duties included working closely with Lima Bintang Logistics management to ensure all staff and contractors are fully comply with statutory regulations and Lima Bintang standards and procedures related to Transport Safety & Warehouse Handling Safety.

Assisting Transport Safety Manager, MY in planning, implementing, and monitoring Transport Safety programs i.e., training, internal/ external audit, fatigue management, campaigns, workplace inspection, and route/customer site risk assessment.

Prepares weekly/monthly reports required by Internal & external , maintains and updates a comprehensive database.

To manage and ensure Lima Bintang approved drivers & trucks under responsible comply with all statutory regulations and Petronas RTOG standards and procedures. This includes assessment of the drivers, involved in accident investigation and reporting and monitoring of high-risk drivers.

Coordinator and investigator for accident/ incident investigation and establish investigation report and HSE lesson learned.

Plan, implement and perform periodic & ad-hoc workplace safety audits, risk assessments, and inspection

Act as the company’s Quality Coordinator to ensure that all health and safety & security procedures are carried out correctly according to local, national, and international legislation. This role usually involves attending external QHSE meetings as the company’s representative.

Required to be part of any emergency response team or disaster recovery team in the event of an incident.

The QHSE Engineer or Safety Officer is usually responsible for ensuring all safety training is carried out and induction programs for new employees include a thorough QHSE element.

Key skills and qualifications of a Road Transport Safety Executive:

To become employed as a Road Transport Safety Officer you must be educated to degree standard and hold relevant QHSE qualifications.

Previous experience as a Road Transport Safety Officer in Logistics and Chemical may be required, or equivalent experience in a similar role outside of the logistic and chemical industry may be acceptable.

You must be an excellent communicator and able to write in a clear and concise manner. Excellent verbal skills are essential as you will be expected to participate in the devising, supervision and delivery of training programmes.

As a Road Transport Safety Officer, you will act as the company’s representative at external meetings and so it is important that you have excellent interpersonal skills.

In the event of a health and safety incident, you will be required to represent the company’s interests and so it is important that you able to problem solve and possess listening skills.

You will be expected to be able operate Microsoft Windows applications eg Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
