RHB Investment Bank Berhad in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a motivated Retail Research Analyst to conduct retail and technical research and to generate short-term trading ideas for Retail Securities, while supporting Group Wholesale Banking and Group Investment Banking revenue. The role includes producing daily and weekly retail research reports, monitoring micro and macro factors, and updating clients.

A Bachelor's degree in Finance/Economics/Investments, at least 1 year of retail or technical

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Investment, Business or related discipline.
• Possession of Investment Adviser Representative's Licence or similar, from local authorities, is a plus.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in retail or technical research at a financial institution.
• Industry experience in securities, stockbroking, investment banking, asset management or financial services is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of financial markets, investment products and market analysis techniques.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Retail Research Analyst to join our team at RHB Investment Bank Berhad. In this role, you'll conduct retail and technical research in order to provide short-term trading ideas to Retail Securities, and effectively support Group Investment Banking efforts to generate revenue.

What you will be doing

Research Support

• Meet requests from Retail Securities and Institutional Equities sales teams and clients, and provide strong research support to Group Wholesale Banking and Group Investment Banking revenue pillars.

Retail Research Products

• Responsible for retail research products, as assigned
• Active monitoring of the micro and macro factors affecting the retail research product(s).
• Generate short-term investment ideas on equity indices, commodities, currencies and stocks.
• Write retail research reports on these investment ideas on a daily and weekly basis, and in a timely manner.
• Consistently update Retail Securities clients on the latest developments.
• Assist in production/coordination of research publications.

Client Engagement

• Accompany the Head, Retail Research in retail seminars and other client servicing efforts in the home country as well as overseas markets, as assigned.

Expanded Responsibilities (subject to performance)

• Retail Research Analysts, subject to performance, may be given an enlarged role with additional responsibilities to:
• Cover retail research products outside of the home country.
• Independently service Retail Securities clients at seminars.
• Handle Retail Securities clients' queries on a daily basis.

Teamwork, Brand Development & Compliance

• Display teamwork to achieve a coherent research product.
• Work closely with other Board Members and other senior management personnel at all times to develop RHB's research product and brand.
• Ensure compliance of all legal and regulatory requirements to achieve a high standard of integrity for RHB's research team and product.

Key Shared Accountabilities

• Collaborate with related departments in Group Investment Banking, including ECM, Corporate Finance, and Corporate Client Coverage teams.
• Support and collaborate with Group Research departments, including Economic Research and Fixed Income, Currencies and Rates Research.

What we're looking for

• A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Investment, Business, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
• Possession of Investment Adviser Representative's Licence or similar, issued by local securities regulatory authorities would be an added advantage.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in retail or technical research experience in an established financial institution.
• Industry experience in securities, stockbroking, investment banking, asset management, or financial services would be an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of financial markets, investment products, and market analysis techniques.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write and present fluently in English.
• Ability to prepare high-quality research reports, market commentaries, and investment recommendations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
