Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Resident Doctor role based in Penang. The Resident Doctor will provide primary and continuing medical care to patients, including conducting consultations, performing physical examinations, diagnosing illnesses, and developing appropriate treatment plans. Daily responsibilities include ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medication, monitoring patient progress, and maintaining accurate, timely medical records. The role involves collaborating closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, participating in case discussions, and ensuring adherence to clinical guidelines, safety protocols, and regulatory standards. The Resident Doctor will also educate patients on disease prevention, health promotion, and the use of digital tools provided by Careclinics to support a more empowered and seamless healthcare journey.

Qualifications

• Recognized medical degree (MBBS, M.D. or equivalent) and valid Full Registration & APC to practice in Malaysia.
• Foundational clinical skills including patient examination, diagnosis, and development of treatment plans.
• Ability to interpret laboratory results, imaging, and other diagnostic investigations accurately; also to perform the necessary investigations through POCTs, perform basic bedside procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Commitment to ethical medical practice, patient confidentiality, and adherence to clinical governance and safety standards.
• Comfort with using electronic medical records and digital health tools; willingness to adopt new healthcare technologies.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment, manage multiple cases, and prioritize patient needs efficiently.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and other local languages is an advantage.
• Prior experience in primary care, internal medicine, emergency medicine or related clinical settings is preferred.
