Job summary

Write Edge, a regional English and writing programmes provider, is seeking a seasoned financial professional to join our finance team in Malaysia. You will manage day-to-day accounting, prepare monthly closes, and support budgets, forecasts, and inter‑company reconciliations.

You will liaise with auditors, tax agents, and internal stakeholders, ensure IFRS and statutory compliance, and help drive process improvements using Xero and Google Sheets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
• Professional qualification (CPA/ACCA/CIMA/ICAEW) preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in financial accounting or reporting.
• Hands-on experience managing a full set of accounts; IFRS knowledge.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysia statutory compliance and external audits.

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily bank balances and payment listings.
• Process payments including vendor invoices, staff claims, and refunds.
• Prepare monthly closing schedules and inter-company reconciliations.
• Monitor compliance with financial policies and statutory requirements.
• Collaborate with auditors, tax agents, and regulators.
• Utilise Xero for daily financial operations.
