Mariadbplc is seeking a motivated Database Administrator (DBA) to join their remote team in Malaysia. In this role, you will perform DBA activities across various customer deployments, focusing on automation, monitoring, and problem resolution.

Qualifications

• Experience in a 24×7 support environment.
• Understanding of high availability environments and technologies.
• Comfortable working remotely (equipment provided).

Responsibilities

• Perform DBA activities remotely with customers around the world.
• Automate various DBA tasks.
• Help improve practices and methodologies for the Remote DBA team.

Skills

Experience with MariaDB/MySQL and surrounding tools

Knowledge of SQL query writing and optimization

Very strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Excellent written and spoken English communication skills

Passion for serving customers and solving technical problems

Tools

Backup utilities (mydumper, MariaDB Backup, etc.)

Scripting languages (Bash, Python, Go)

Virtualization software (Xen, VMware)
