The Reliability Test Technician is responsible for performing reliability testing and failure analysis to evaluate product quality and reliability in accordance with customer requirements, internal procedures, and applicable industry standards. The role includes sample preparation, laboratory testing, equipment operation, data collection, and documentation while ensuring compliance with quality, ESD, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform reliability testing in accordance with approved test plans, work instructions, customer requirements, and applicable standards.
- Prepare test samples, fixtures, and test setups prior to testing.
- Conduct reliability and failure analysis testing, including:
- Vibration Testing
- Mechanical Shock Testing
- Drop Testing
- Cross Section Analysis
- Dye & Pry Analysis
- Operate, maintain, and perform routine verification of reliability laboratory equipment to ensure proper functionality and testing readiness.
- Monitor testing activities and ensure tests are completed according to established procedures and schedules.
- Perform pre-test and post-test visual inspections and document observations.
- Record, compile, and maintain accurate test data, inspection records, and laboratory documentation.
- Identify abnormal test conditions, equipment issues, or product failures and promptly report findings to the Reliability Engineer.
- Assist in failure analysis investigations and root cause analysis activities.
- Ensure laboratory equipment is calibrated and maintained in accordance with the calibration schedule.
- Maintain laboratory housekeeping in accordance with 5S, ESD, and safety requirements.
- Comply with company Quality Management System (QMS), Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS), and laboratory procedures.
- Support customer, internal, and external audits by preparing and maintaining required laboratory records.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory efficiency, testing quality, and operational effectiveness.

Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in a Reliability Laboratory, Failure Analysis Laboratory, or electronics manufacturing environment.
Hands-on experience in the following testing methods is required:
- Cross Section Analysis
- Dye & Pry Analysis
- Vibration Testing
- Mechanical Shock Testing
- Drop Testing
Experience in PCBA, SMT, EMS, or semiconductor manufacturing is preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
- Good knowledge of electronic components, PCBA, and SMT manufacturing processes.
- Strong understanding of reliability testing and failure analysis methodologies.
- Proficient in Cross Section preparation and microscopic inspection.
- Experience performing Dye & Pry analysis and Strain Gauge testing.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, product specifications, and work instructions.
- Good documentation and report writing skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of ESD control, laboratory safety, and 5S practices.
- Good analytical, troubleshooting, and observation skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
