Job summary

Maybank in Penang is seeking a Relationship Manager in Commercial Banking to grow the deposit portfolio, serving both Conventional and Islamic deposits and helping businesses achieve their financial goals.

You will build and deepen client relationships, drive customer acquisition, and cross-sell Cash Management and Trade Finance solutions while collaborating with region heads and branches to deliver holistic banking services.

Qualifications

• Experience in business development, relationship management, or deposit acquisition within the banking and financial services industry.

Responsibilities

• Grow and manage the Commercial Banking deposit portfolio (Conventional & Islamic), including acquiring New-to-Bank and New-to-Commercial Banking customers.
• Develop and strengthen relationships with commercial banking clients while expanding deposit balances across CASA, FD, MMD, Payroll, Trade, and Operating Accounts.
• Drive customer acquisition and increase deposit balances through strategic prospecting, networking, referrals, and market penetration initiatives.
• Identify business opportunities and conduct client engagements to promote Cash Management, Trade Finance, Payroll, Foreign Currency (FCY) Accounts, and other transactional banking solutions.
• Work closely with Region Heads, Branches, and internal stakeholders to deliver holistic banking solutions that meet customers’ evolving business needs.
• Deepen customer relationships and maximize share of wallet through cross-selling of the Bank’s products and services, including Commercial Cards, Insurance, Financing Facilities, Treasury Solutions, and Transaction Banking Products.

Qualifications

• Experience in business development, relationship management, or deposit acquisition within the banking and financial services industry.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Deposit Products, including CASA, Fixed Deposits (FD), Money Market Deposits (MMD), Payroll Solutions, and Transaction Banking Services.
• Proven track record in customer acquisition, portfolio growth, sales performance, and relationship building.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to engage and influence decision-makers across various levels of an organization.
• Knowledge of Cash Management, Trade Finance, M2u Biz, M2E, Payroll, Foreign Currency Accounts, and other Commercial Banking products will be an added advantage.
