Job summary

Businesslist in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a proactive Insurance/Reinsurance Business Development professional to identify market opportunities, research industry trends, and prepare marketing and placement materials.

You will maintain relationships with insurers and reinsurers, coordinate client engagements, support product offerings, and assist in negotiating terms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in insurance or reinsurance (marketing, underwriting, broking, or client servicing preferred).
• Strong understanding of insurance products, reinsurance concepts, and market practices.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Analytical mindset with ability to interpret technical information.
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and business tools.
• Proactive, self-driven, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Identify market opportunities, conduct industry research, and prepare marketing proposals and materials.
• Maintain relationships with insurers, reinsurers, and stakeholders; coordinate client engagements and communications.
• Assist in reinsurance placements by preparing submissions, slips, and analyses, and support negotiations for terms.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure accurate documentation, timely submissions, and proper records maintenance.
• Support internal reporting, pipeline tracking, and performance monitoring to drive growth.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, KYC, confidentiality, and data protection.

• Supported business development initiatives by identifying market opportunities, conducting industry research, and preparing marketing proposals, presentations, and reinsurance programme materials.
• Maintained relationships with insurers, reinsurers, and key stakeholders, coordinated client engagements, facilitated communications, and provided support on product offerings and solutions.
• Assisted in treaty and facultative reinsurance placements by preparing underwriting submissions, slips, placement documentation, comparison analyses, and recommendation reports, while supporting negotiations to secure competitive terms.
• Coordinated with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate documentation, efficient workflow management, timely submissions, and proper maintenance of client, placement, and marketing records.
• Supported internal reporting, pipeline tracking, and business performance monitoring to enhance operational efficiency and business growth initiatives.
• Ensured compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, KYC procedures, confidentiality standards, and data protection regulations.
• Contributed to special projects, industry events, workshops, and ad hoc assignments related to business development, research, marketing, and operational support
