Job summary

MAHB is seeking a senior regulatory and governance lead to identify, assess, and implement laws, regulations, standards, and circulars across the Group. You will coordinate policy changes, ensure timely deployment, and provide guidance to Boards and senior management.

This role requires strong communication, training ability, and oversight of compliance across Malaysia, including entities in Singapore and Labuan, with emphasis on BN(M) policies and a robust governance framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or professional qualification in Law, Accounting, Compliance, Risk Management, Audit, or a related discipline.
• A Master’s Degree or relevant postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage.
• Regulatory requirements are accurately assessed, assigned and implemented within stipulated timelines.
• Management receives timely reporting on implementation status, key risks and overdue actions.
• Relevant internal policies, procedures, controls and systems are updated accordingly.
• Provide timely, accurate and practical regulatory and governance advice to the respective Boards of Directors, Senior Management, Compliance Units and business owners across Group MAHB.

Responsibilities

• Lead the identification, assessment and management of new or revised laws, regulations, policy documents, standards, guidelines and circulars issued by regulators and associations and oversee their timely implementation.
• Provide timely updates and advice to Boards and Senior Management on regulatory developments and required actions.
• Drive the implementation of applicable regulatory requirements across functions, including changes to policies, procedures, products, processes and systems.
• Ensure effective communication of regulatory developments across the Group to promote awareness and compliance culture.
• Provide regulatory and governance advisory to Compliance Units and business owners to support consistent interpretation of requirements.
• Lead and oversee the Group Compliance Framework and oversight of entities in Singapore and Labuan.
• Ensure the Compliance Framework is reviewed and updated in line with Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) and other regulators.
• Lead implementation of corporate governance framework across MAHB in accordance with BNM policies and local laws.
• Monitor, challenge and advise on corrective actions arising from audits and regulator findings, escalating material matters as needed.
• Promote consistency in regulatory governance standards across the Group while acknowledging jurisdictional differences.
