Job summary

NTT DATA is seeking a skilled Data Center Infrastructure Specialist to join our on-site team in Cyberjaya. You will optimize data center operations, manage passive infrastructure, and collaborate with regional procurement to onboard new suppliers.

Ideal candidates have extensive data center experience, strong SQL skills, and a track record in project management and process improvement. A focus on automation and efficient service delivery is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or related field.
• ITIL Foundation certification.
• CNET and CDCDP certifications are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities for cost efficiency through insourcing.
• Define and harmonize policies and procedures for passive products, campus connect, pre-cabling, and cross-connects globally.
• Assist local teams to reduce lead times (OLA/SLA) and improve service delivery.
• Actively manage suppliers of passive hardware within your region.
• Oversee capacity management database implementation and final accountability.
• Serve as the point of contact for regional teams regarding GDC’s passive infrastructure.
• Be a local point of contact with procurement during onboarding of new suppliers.
• Evaluate tools required by regional teams to complete passive network installations.

Key responsibilities:

• Identify opportunities for cost efficiency through insourcing.

• Seasoned knowledge of data center applications and systems.
• Seasoned proficiency in hardware and software systems like servers, networks and databases.
• Ability to collect and analyse system performance data to identify issues and improve IT systems.
• Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical people.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Seasoned analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues and devise efficient solutions.
• Seasoned project management skills.
• Seasoned proficiency in scripting languages to automate repetitive tasks and streamline operations.
• Competency in creating detailed reports that communicate findings and recommendations.
• Seasoned knowledge of SQL for managing and manipulating relational databases

Academic qualifications and certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Information Technology or related field.
• Relevant vendor certifications such as ITIL foundation.
• Additional beneficial certifications such as CNET and CDCDP etc.

Required experience:

• Seasoned experience in data centre applications, as well as server and non-desktop computer hardware, software, systems and other resources within a data centre setting.
• Seasoned experience in a similar role, with strong understanding of IT and data centre operations.
• Seasoned experience in identifying and implementing innovative technologies and practices to enhance data center operations.
• Seasoned experience in analyzing and improving data center processes for increased efficiency and reliability.
• Seasoned experience in participating in / managing IT projects, including migrations, upgrades, and new implementations.
