NTT DATA is seeking Database Administrators and Middleware Engineers to manage the full lifecycle of relational databases and middleware across on‑premises and cloud environments. Responsibilities include provisioning, patching, performance tuning, security, backup, DR readiness, and compliance auditing.

The role emphasizes automated management with strong operational standards and requires experience with major RDBMS and middleware stacks such as Apache, Nginx and IIS.

Qualificações

• Experience with managing relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
• Experience with cloud-managed databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL).
• Provisioning and lifecycle management with repeatable deployments.
• Patching and CVE management across platforms.

Responsabilidades

• Provision database instances with baseline configurations across on‑premises and cloud.
• Apply patches and manage CVE remediation across platforms on schedule.
• Manage users, schemas, access control and RBAC.
• Monitor performance, throughput and capacity trends.
• Tune queries, plans and indexes for performance targets.
• Manage backup policies and restore procedures.
• Monitor high availability and perform failovers as needed.
• Conduct database access auditing and generate reports.
• Monitor health, report trends and escalate capacity risks.
• Manage middleware platforms (Apache, Nginx, IIS) and their config.

About The Role

We are looking for Database Administrators and Middleware Engineers to manage the full lifecycle of relational database and middleware infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. The role covers database provisioning, patching, performance tuning, schema management, access control, high availability, backup and compliance audit - alongside middleware stack management. The emphasis is on consistent, automated management with strong operational and security standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provision database instances with standardised baseline configurations across on-premises and cloud
• Apply database patches and manage CVE remediation across all platforms on schedule
• Manage database users, schemas, access permissions and role-based privilege control
• Monitor database performance - query throughput, resource utilisation and capacity trends
• Tune queries, execution plans and indexes to maintain performance within agreed thresholds
• Manage database backup policies and validate restore procedures on a regular schedule
• Monitor and manage high availability replication; execute failover and maintain RPO within targets
• Conduct database access auditing and produce compliance and audit reports
• Monitor database health and capacity; report on trends and elevate capacity risks proactively
• Manage middleware platforms - Apache, Nginx and IIS installation, patching and configuration
• Participate in DR drills for the database tier and validate recovery procedures
• Maintain database runbooks, standard operating procedures and change documentation

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

• Relational databases - Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle and PostgreSQL
• Cloud-managed databases - AWS RDS and Azure SQL Database
• Database provisioning and lifecycle management - consistent, repeatable deployments
• Database patching and CVE management - lifecycle patching across all database platforms
• Performance tuning - query analysis, execution plan optimisation and index management
• Schema management - schema design support, object lifecycle and version control
• Database access management - user provisioning, role-based access control and privilege governance
• Database backup and restore - policy management, backup validation and restore procedures
• Replication and high availability - synchronous/asynchronous replication, failover and RPO management
• Database monitoring - performance metrics, capacity utilisation, alert management and trending
• Compliance and audit - database access auditing, activity monitoring and compliance reporting
• Middleware - Apache HTTP Server, Nginx and Microsoft IIS installation, configuration and lifecycle
• Configuration management - Ansible or equivalent for database and middleware automation

At least 5 - 10 years of experience
