Job summary

EdgeConneX seeks a Regional Manager, Data Center Operations - APAC to oversee data centers across the APAC region. You will lead preventive maintenance, meet SLA requirements, and coordinate a team of engineers across Cyberjaya/Johor with up to 50% travel.

The role emphasizes leadership in MEP and data center environments, CMMS proficiency, and collaboration with regional directors and vendors to deliver reliable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in facility operations or engineering functions.
• 5+ years of experience in management function.
• Familiarity with power- and mechanical equipment, HV and LV switchgear and different brands of generators.
• Significant data center operations experience including UPS/PDU/CRAC/Generator and security/fire/life safety systems.
• Experience with multiple PM cycles for Data Center equipment.
• Experience with CMMS and Change Management processes.
• Ability to read AutoCAD, Visio and PDF documents and develop installation standards and project tracking documents.
• Experience in Construction or Real Estate environments is a plus.
• Education: bachelor’s degree in engineering; OSHA 30.

The Regional Manager, Data Center Operations - APAC works directly with the Regional Directors to monitor, maintain and support EdgeConneX data centers throughout the APAC region. This requires leading scheduled preventive maintenance activities, performing unscheduled maintenance, and supporting any customer requests. He or she will also help manage facility expansions and improvement, new MEP capacity expansions or repairs, and utility upgrades.

While an IT background could be helpful to complement the leadership needed, the background coveted is in MEP. This position reports to the Regional Director of APAC Data Center Operations and will be expected to work closely with the other Regional Managers (across other regions), peers in other departments, Customer Installation Project Managers and with contract vendors to accomplish their tasks.

While this position can be based in Cyberjaya or Johor, travel could be as much as 50%.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support the Regional Directors in implementing and managing the Preventive Maintenance program at each of our sites and act as on-site lead for any emergency maintenance done at the EDCs
• Ensure all customer SLA requirements are met and maintained.
• Manage a team of highly skilled engineers. Support hiring activities for new developments.
• Work with our computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and other systems to ensure they are up to date and have the correct information.
• Effectively manage, supervise, and evaluate contract technical labor
• Identifying areas of improvement to our existing facilities, particularly efficiency and PUE
• Evaluate and improve the security of data center facilities
• Conduct routine, ongoing assessment of the building systems operations
• Ensuring compliance with all safety procedures as well as utilization of protective equipment
• Maintain ongoing communication with tenants, owners, property management and vendors
• Travel can be up to 50% of the time

Experience/Education

• Significant data center operations experience, to include detailed knowledge of UPS/PDU/RPP/CRAC/Generator and Security and Fire/Life Safety systems
• Experience with multiple PM cycles for Data Center equipment
• Experience with trouble ticketing systems and Method-of-Procedure processes
• Ability to recommend improvements to dispatch and reporting processes and systems used for contract technical labor
• Experience with Change Management and CMMS systems
• The ability to: Comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex project documents, including AutoCAD, Visio and PDF documents , write and evaluate maintenance procedures, develop installation standards and project tracking/management documents
• Experience in the Construction or Real Estate environments a plus
• Education level - bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent
• Safety for Operational Supervisors (OSHA 30)
