Job summary

Businesslist is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to oversee commissioning activities from design review through final handover for data centre projects. You will develop tests, execute FAT and on-site testing, and ensure installations meet standards.

The role requires strong communication with managers, engineers, contractors, and clients. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in commissioning or related engineering, with a background in Data Centres or HVAC systems, and willingness to travel across

Qualifications

• 2+ years of commissioning, project management, or related engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Experience in Data Centres, HVAC, cooling systems, or related industries preferred.
• Strong technical knowledge of chillers, CDUs, refrigeration, hydraulics, and controls.
• Understanding of commissioning methodologies and testing procedures.
• Strong project coordination and stakeholder management abilities.
• Effective communication skills in English; Mandarin is an advantage.
• Ability to travel to customer sites and manufacturing facilities as required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate commissioning activities throughout the project lifecycle
• Execute commissioning processes from design review to final system handover
• Develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures, and testing schedules
• Conduct factory acceptance tests (FAT), witness testing, and site inspections
• Verify equipment installation compliance with project requirements and standards
• Perform start-up, functional testing, and integrated system testing
• Identify technical issues and support troubleshooting and corrective actions
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, consultants, and clients
• Maintain accurate commissioning records, reports, and technical documentation
• Assess system performance and ensure operational readiness before handover
• Support multiple commissioning projects across the APAC region
• Travel to customer sites and manufacturing facilities as required

The Successful Applicant

• Experience in Data Centres, HVAC, cooling systems, or related industries preferred
• Strong technical knowledge of chillers, CDUs, refrigeration, hydraulics, and controls
• Understanding of commissioning methodologies and testing procedures
• Strong project coordination and stakeholder management abilities
• Effective communication skills in English; Mandarin is an advantage
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project
• Willingness to travel approximately
