Job summary

DHL Global Forwarding is seeking a Regional Accounting Governance & Controls Specialist based at USJ, Selangor. You will strengthen internal controls, standardize processes, and partner with markets across APAC to promote best accounting practices.

The role involves supporting audits, governance initiatives, and close activities. You will work with finance stakeholders across APAC to drive improvements, ensuring compliance with IFRS and DHL policies, and contributing to regional governance

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant (CA, CPA, ACCA, etc)
• Preferably 3+ years with a Big 4 audit firm or multinational finance organization
• Strong IFRS knowledge and governance framework experience
• Experience in controls testing, audit coordination, remediation management, and risk assessment
• Strong analytical and communication skills with high attention to detail
• Ability to collaborate across countries and cultures in APAC

Responsibilities

• Support internal and external audit activities including control assessments and remediation
• Coordinate with GSC and country finance teams to resolve accounting and reporting issues
• Strengthen balance sheet governance and internal control frameworks via standardization and improvements
• Support Month-End Close and period-end close activities for timely reporting
• Perform analytical reviews to identify anomalies and root causes of accounting issues
• Support regional governance initiatives and ensure compliance with IFRS and DHL policies
• Collaborate with APAC stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and excellence

Regional Accounting Governance & Controls Specialist

Join us as a Regional Accounting Governance & Controls Specialist and play a key role in strengthening financial governance across the region. You will partner with stakeholders across markets to enhance internal controls, promote consistent accounting practices, manage financial risks, and drive continuous improvement in our governance framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Support internal and external audit activities, including control assessments, deficiency remediation, and follow-up actions across APAC entities.
• Drive collaboration between the Global Service Center (GSC) and country finance teams to resolve accounting, control, and reporting issues.
• Strengthen balance sheet governance and internal control frameworks through standardization, process improvements, and best practice implementation.
• Support Month-End Close (MEC) and period-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Perform analytical reviews of financial data to identify anomalies, control gaps, and root causes of accounting issues.
• Support regional governance initiatives and promote compliance with DHL accounting policies and IFRS requirements.
• Partner with finance stakeholders across APAC to drive continuous improvement, standardization, and operational excellence.

• Strong understanding of IFRS, accounting controls, financial reporting, and governance frameworks.
• Experience in controls testing, audit coordination, remediation management, and risk assessment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify anomalies, investigate root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Strong communication skills to support collaboration with stakeholders across APAC.
• Ability to work effectively across countries, cultures, and multifunctional teams within a regional environment.
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills are advantageous.
• This position is to be based at USJ, Selangor.
