React Native Lead Developer – Project Delivery (FinTech)

This is a hands‑on leadership role, combining technical leadership, project delivery, client communication, and active software development. You will be expected to lead delivery while remaining involved in architecture, development, code review, troubleshooting, technical decision-making, and release management.

The ideal candidate combines the mindset of a senior engineer, technical lead, and project manager—someone who can translate business requirements into executable plans, keep a team moving, communicate confidently with stakeholders, and personally step in to resolve complex technical issues.

Key Responsibilities

Own end-to-end project delivery, from requirements clarification and planning through development, testing, release, and production delivery, ensuring quality, timelines, and client expectations are met.

Lead the Scrum / Agile delivery process, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily coordination, sprint reviews, retrospectives, prioritisation, and maintaining clear and actionable delivery plans.

Manage project scope, priorities, milestones, dependencies, risks, and release schedules, ensuring commitments are realistic and changes are identified and managed proactively.

Coordinate developers, QA, clients, and other stakeholders, maintaining clear ownership, communication, project visibility, outstanding decisions, and actionable next steps.

Identify and drive resolution of risks, blockers, delays, and dependencies early, escalating issues promptly with appropriate context, impact, urgency, ownership, and recommended actions.

Provide hands‑on technical leadership and development, including React Native development, architecture and implementation decisions, code reviews, troubleshooting, technical guidance, and maintaining engineering quality.

Drive technical quality and release readiness, including automated testing, CI/CD, build and deployment processes, production troubleshooting, and collaboration with backend, infrastructure, and QA teams.

Act as a key client and technical contact, leading requirement discussions, progress updates, technical conversations, expectation management, and difficult trade‑offs while maintaining strong client relationships, scope control, and delivery priorities.

Required Experience

Proven experience as a Technical Lead, Team Lead, Engineering Lead, Project Lead, or similar, with the ability to combine hands‑on engineering with project and delivery leadership.

Strong practical experience in Scrum / Agile software development, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand‑ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and translating requirements into backlog items, priorities, sprint commitments, and delivery plans.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams, priorities, dependencies, deadlines, scope changes, and delivery expectations, while identifying and escalating project or technical issues appropriately.

Strong understanding of AWS‑based application architectures and services, with practical experience in CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, deployments, and release management.

Strong understanding and practical experience with automated testing, including unit, integration, and/or end‑to‑end testing, and maintaining engineering quality throughout the development lifecycle.

Proven experience working directly with external clients or enterprise stakeholders, with excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making, communication, diplomacy, and stakeholder management skills.

Candidates with backend development experience in Java / Spring Boot, FinTech, banking, payments, financial services, regulated systems, enterprise environments, mobile production releases, AWS infrastructure/security/monitoring, engineering governance.

Fluent written and spoken English is mandatory. And Cantonese language ability will have a strong advantage.
