Job summary

Swap Asia is seeking a skilled Front-end Engineer to lead the development of React web and mobile applications for Telco clients. You will help design scalable architectures, build reusable UI components, and collaborate with product and design teams to deliver high-quality software.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, testing strategies with Jest/Cypress, and integration with backend services via REST/GraphQL, while ensuring performance and security expectations are met.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
• Solid grasp of React principles, including functional components, JSX, hooks, and component lifecycle.
• Experience managing application state with Context API, Redux Toolkit, or Zustand.
• Experience consuming RESTful APIs or GraphQL endpoints with Axios or Fetch.
• Strong understanding of promises and async/await for front-end-back-end data flows.
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative workflows on GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket.
• Familiarity with unit/integration testing and front-end test frameworks (Jest, RTL, Cypress).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management; able to work independently on multiple integrations.
• Experience with CI/CD and deployment management is a plus.
• Knowledge of OCI, Azure or AWS is an advantage.
• Exposure to AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Claude, Codex) is a plus.

Ground up development and maintenance of web and mobile React Applications for Telco businesses.

Architecture & Performance Design: Design scalable, clean front-end architectures and optimize React application performance for maximum speed and scalability.

Component Library Development: Build, maintain, and document reusable, high-performance UI components and front-end libraries for use across multiple applications.

Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical guidance, conduct thorough code reviews, and mentor junior and mid-level developers to maintain high engineering standards as and when required.

System Integration: Collaborate with backend engineers to define API contracts, integrate complex RESTful/GraphQL services, and manage application state efficiently.

Code Quality & Testing: Establish, apply and enforce best practices for testing, implementing robust unit, integration, and end-to-end testing strategies using Jest or Cypress.

Product Collaboration: Work closely with product managers and UX/UI designers to translate wireframes and business requirements into technically feasible, high-quality code.

CI/CD & Deployment: Participate in or lead the configuration of build tools, Webpack/Vite configurations, and CI/CD deployment pipelines for front-end assets.

Performance and security testing: Conduct and support relevant testing to ensure applications can scale and business grows.

Requirements: -

State Management: Practical experience managing application state using tools like Context API, Redux Toolkit, or Zustand.

API Consumption: Experience integrating RESTful APIs or GraphQL endpoints using tools like Axios or native Fetch API.

Asynchronous Programming: Strong understanding of promises, async/await, and handling data flows between front-end and back-end systems.

Version Control: Proficiency with Git and collaborative workflows in platforms like GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.

Testing & Debugging: Familiarity with front-end testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, or Cypress.

Good communication and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple integration initiatives.

Experience working with enterprise IT, business and vendor teams.

Experience with CI/CD and integration deployment management is an advantage.

Understanding cloud platforms such as OCI, Azure or AWS are an advantage.
