Responsibilities

• Support and assist the System Engineer/Asst. Engineer in planning the Maintenance activities to ensure all planned and unplanned maintenance activities are completed within the allocated time frame.
• Plan and determine the correct parts under the direction of the System Engineer/Asst. Engineer and within approved procedures and technical method in performing the PM and activities at mainline and depot.
• Execute the planned and unplanned maintenance works in a very effective and efficient manner in terms of quality and quantity of the assigned work.
• Implement the first level maintenance in timely manner (by replacing faulty part with spare unit/s or at site rectification) to ensure Rail system operation is not interrupted.
• Perform in-depth troubleshooting and repair of faults in Signalling & Communication subsystems.
• Interpret maintenance manuals, blueprints, schematic drawings and prepare schematic drawings to communicate with technical personnel or contractors in performing the works.
• Provide reports on any activities implemented such as PM, modification works, testing etc.
• Ensure Signalling & Communication Sub-systems are properly maintained (in terms of scheduled or unscheduled maintenance) to reduce or eliminate downtime which may have impact to safety.
• Ensure maintenance activities are implemented within stipulated cost/budget allocations.
• Provide support to Foreman or the Engineer to report the monthly preventive or corrective maintenance cost information.
• Ensure the maintenance activities are in line with quality standard and quality control practices as guided by the Engineers.
