Job summary

Monin Asia KL Sdn Bhd is seeking a proactive Research and Development Executive to lead in-house projects from ideation through post-launch follow-up in our Malaysia team. You will advise on briefs, formulate products, and conduct sensory and physical-chemical analyses while ensuring regulatory compliance and labelling validity.

You will coordinate with global teams, maintain databases, and contribute to continuous improvement across processes and documentation.

Qualifications

Degree in Food Technology or Food Science.
3–5 years working in similar function.
Experience in project management and sensory analysis.

Responsibilities

Manage R&D projects from ideation to post-launch follow-up.
Advise on brief creation, formulate, and sample.
Perform sensory and physical-chemical analysis; regulatory verifications; ageing tests.
Organize production trials; CIP validation; create technical documents; validate labels and product certifications.
Keep databases up to date and liaise with Monin Asia and Monin Group.
Support customer inquiries and non-conformity handling.
Organize sensory training as needed.

Job description

Manage autonomously assigned R&D development projects, for in-house manufactured products in existing ranges, from ideation until post launch follow-up (advise on brief creation, formulate, and make sample, sensory and physical-chemical analysis, regulatory verifications, ageing tests, organize production trials, CIP validation, creation technical documents, validation of labels, product certifications, etc).

Understand Monin product policies and ensure that they are well applied.

Proactively participate in continuous improvement (laboratory organization, new procedures, training, enriched database, etc).

Understand how to work with countries regulations and build and expertise in terms of compositional standards, additives, and labelling rules for the assigned countries.

Ensure that the related databases are always up to date.

Lead/participate autonomously in projects as assigned:

Internal / Global R&D projects

Internal technical projects

Long-term analysis / research projects

Compliance projects

Raw materials testing

Perform technical, scientific, regulatory and competition intelligence monitoring.

Interact and collect necessary information within all departments of Monin Asia and Monin Group.

Participate in continuous improvement projects.

Provide assistance regarding customer enquiries and non-conformity management.

Organize sensory training when needed.

To perform any other job that may be assigned by the superior.

Job Requirements

Degree in Food Technology, Food Science or related scientific disciplines.
Possess 3-5 years working experience in similar function, preferable from similar industry.
Experience in project management, sensory panelist and analyst.
Analytical, innovative, proactive and organisational skills.
Knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc).
Knowledge of manufacturing process.
