Job summary

Keysight Technologies in Penang is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain manufacturing applications platform using modern frameworks and AI-assisted development tools.

You will work across backend services, REST APIs, databases, and UI, collaborating with UI/UX designers and QA to deliver scalable, secure enterprise applications and CI/CD pipelines. A strong foundation in C#, Angular, .NET, and cloud architecture is expected.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software development experience.
• Proficient in C#, Angular, .NET, REST APIs, MSSQL, Python.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools is a plus.
• Familiarity with cloud and microservices architecture.
• Strong knowledge of software design principles and OOP.

The Software Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining manufacturing applications platform. The engineer is expected to adopt modern software engineering practices and leverage AI‑assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

Full‑Stack Development

• Develop and maintain backend services, REST APIs, databases, and windows/web‑based user interfaces.
• Build intuitive, responsive, and user‑centric applications using modern development frameworks.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers to deliver effective user experiences.
• Support end‑to‑end solution delivery across frontend, backend, and data layers.

AI & Analytics Integration

• Integrate analytics, AI, and intelligent recommendations.
• Develop capabilities that utilize predictive insights, anomaly detection, and future AI‑driven features.
• Build intelligent workflows that improve operational decision‑making and productivity.

Software Engineering Excellence

• Apply Agile development practices, design reviews, code reviews, and automated testing.
• Contribute to technical design, architecture discussions, and engineering standards.
• Develop high‑quality, maintainable, and testable software solutions.
• Continuously improve engineering practices, code quality, and development efficiency.

DevOps & AI‑Assisted Development

• Support CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment processes.
• Utilize AI‑assisted development tools to improve productivity and software quality.
• Participate in monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities.
• Adopt modern engineering practices and emerging technologies where appropriate.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

• Work closely with Architect, Software Engineers, UI/UX Designers, SQ Engineers, and Manufacturing SMEs.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions and actionable deliverables.
• Participate in solution reviews, feature validation, and user acceptance activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of software development experience.
• Proficient in C#, Angular, .NET, REST APIs, MSSQL, Python, cloud and microservices architecture.
• Strong understanding of software design principles, design patterns, object‑oriented programming, and distributed systems.
• Experience developing scalable, secure, and maintainable enterprise applications.
• Experience with Git/BitBucket, JIRA, Jenkins, CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Familiarity with Docker, containerization, deployment automation, and cloud technologies.
• Familiarity with AI‑assisted software development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, etc.).
• Understanding of AI/ML concepts, workflow automation, and intelligent software capabilities.
• Ability to translate business processes and operational requirements into scalable software solutions.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with technical and business stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
• Self‑motivated with a passion for continuous learning and innovation.
