Job summary

Spring Energy in Malaysia seeks a Quarry Supervisor to lead daily site operations across open-cast quarrying activities, including drilling, blasting coordination, loading, hauling, and feed of materials into crushers. Qualifications

• Diploma/Certificate in Mining/Civil Engineering or Geology is required or advantageous.
• 3–5 years of hands-on supervisory experience in open-cast quarrying, mining, or large-scale earthwork operations.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA/JKKP regulations applicable to heavy industries.
• Ability to read basic technical site drawings and material production logs.

Responsibilities

• Daily Supervision: Oversee frontline site operations, including drilling, blasting coordination, loading, hauling, and feeding raw materials into the crusher plant.
• Target Achievement: Monitor and optimize daily production output to meet supply requirements for the sales department, asphalt premix plants, and external clients.
• Workforce Allocation: Assign daily duties to heavy machinery operators (e.g., excavator, wheel loader, dump trucks).
• Pre-Trip & Machinery Checks: Ensure operators perform mandatory daily checks on heavy machinery and conveyor systems.
• Breakdown Coordination: Minimize downtime by coordinating with maintenance teams and scheduling preventive maintenance.

1. Key Responsibilities

Production & Operations Management

• Daily Supervision: Oversee frontline site operations, including drilling, blasting coordination, loading, hauling, and the feeding of raw materials into the crusher plant.

• Pre-Trip & Machinery Checks: Ensure operators perform mandatory daily checks on heavy machinery and conveyor systems.

• Breakdown Coordination: Work closely with the workshop supervisor and maintenance mechanics to minimize machinery downtime and coordinate planned preventive maintenance schedules.

Documentation & Site Administration

• Daily Logs: Maintain accurate production logs, equipment running hours, and fuel consumption records for management review.

2. Requirements

• Education: Diploma/Certificate in Mining/Civil Engineering, Geology, or a related technical discipline. Possessing a valid Blasting Certificate is a highly advantageous asset.

• Experience:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of hands‑on supervisory experience in open‑cast quarrying, mining, or large‑scale earthwork operations.
  • Familiarity with the operation of crusher plants, screening systems, and heavy earthmoving equipment.

• Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA/JKKP regulations) applicable to heavy industries.
  • Ability to read basic technical site drawings and material production logs.

• Soft Skills:

  • Strong leadership, firm disciplinary management (handling site absenteeism or safety non‑compliance), and clear communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced, high‑dust, and high‑noise outdoor environment.

3. Working Conditions

• Environment: High exposure to outdoor weather conditions, rugged terrains, dust, and heavy machinery noise.

• Schedule: Requires flexibility to work extended shifts or weekend operations depending on production demands.
