Private Advertiser in Malaysia's Sarawak region seeks an experienced Quantity Surveyor to prepare cost plans, budgets, and final accounts for construction projects. You will analyze drawings, manage subcontractor contracts, monitor costs, and provide value engineering while complying with local regulations.
A degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management and at least 5 years' experience are required; strong software and MS Office skills, and excellent negotiation and communication
Preparing detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects
Analysing and interpreting technical drawings, specifications and contract documents
Negotiating and managing subcontractor and supplier contracts
Monitoring and controlling project costs, identifying potential savings and variations
Preparing and submitting progress claims, valuations and final accounts
Advising on contractual matters and resolving disputes
Collaborating with project managers, engineers and other stakeholders
What we're looking for
A degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
At least 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
Strong technical knowledge of construction materials, methods and cost control processes
Proficient in using quantity surveying software and MS Office applications
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team and under pressure to meet deadlines
Familiarity with local construction regulations and industry standards
