Job summary

VESTLAND RESOURCES SDN BHD is seeking a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to support tendering and project cost management. You will prepare quantity take-offs, finalize BoQs, and assist in price sourcing and negotiations across multiple sites.

The role requires 2-3 years of related experience, strong drawing interpretation skills, and the ability to work with project managers and contractors to ensure accurate budgets and timely submissions.

Qualifications

• Experience in taking-off quantities and tender costing.
• Ability to source prices for equipment and materials.
• Familiar with drawings and BOM interpretation.
• Collaborate with project managers and contractors.
• Submit tender documentation on time.
• 2-3 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quantity take-offs and tender costing.
• Support project negotiation and Board submissions.
• Finalize BoQ 4-5 days before closing.
• Source prices and negotiate equipment and materials.
• Liaise with project team and contractors.
• Travel to sites as required.
• Monitor material quantities and orders.
• Review construction plans and budgets.
• Visit site for QA twice monthly.
• Record changes and update budgets.

Job description

• Able to prepare taking-off quantity and tender costing
• To provide support for project negotiation
• Finalize the Bill of Quantities (BQ) 4 to 5 days before closing
• To handle price sourcing and negotiate all require equipment and material required in a tender or on-going project
• To support project team pertaining to the project material, specification, and requirement
• Submit the whole tender to Board one (1) day before submission
• Familiar with drawings and able to interpret into Board of Meeting (BOM)
• Collaborate and work with project managers, construction crews, and government agencies, when necessary
• Maintain the accuracy of work done at project sites
• Reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements
• Advising managers and clients on improvements and new strategies
• Keeping track of materials and ordering more when required
• Q.S to visit site twice (14th & 30th) a month
• Variation Claim (VC) must be submitted within 14 days upon receiving instructions
• Documenting any changes in design and updating budgets
• Traveling from the office to various sites as required
• Minimum 2 - 3 years of experience
