Job summary

Flex is seeking a Quality Supervisor for the Mechanical Plant in Batu Kawan, Penang. You will supervise and coordinate QA inspections on the manufacturing floor, quarantine nonconforming goods, and ensure adherence to ISO 9001 and QMS processes.

The role involves direct interaction with HR, finance, and production teams to meet quality goals. You will lead inspectors, review quality reports, conduct audits, and drive corrective actions across stamping, assembly, welding, and other processes to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Quality Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Quality Control/Quality Assurance in mechanical manufacturing.
• Familiar with stamping, assembly, welding, powder coating, machining or metal fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates activities related to the quality assurance inspection on the production floor.
• Quarantines and dispositions nonconforming goods while following policies and processes.
• Assigns staff to maximize quality control goals and maintains shift staffing levels.
• Interacts with HR and finance on employee issues and trains shift guidance to inspectors.
• Reviews quality reports, conducts process and sub-factory audits, and implements corrective actions.
• Liaises with customers, vendors and internal groups on quality issues and holds up engineering for corrections.

Job Summary

Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, Axiom, with the spin planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support Axiom, a company focused on critical digital infrastructure and delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications.

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Quality Supervisor located in Mechanical Plant Batu Kawan, Penang.

Supervises and coordinates activities related to the Quality Assurance Inspection function, on the manufacturing floor. Quarantine and disposition of nonconforming goods, while ensuring the policies and processes are followed.

What a typical day looks like

• Assigns employees to maximize quality control goals.
• Ensures that directed shift staffing levels are maintained.
• Hires guiders and inspectors for shift.
• Interfaces with HR and finance for employee issues.
• Research data and puts corrective actions into place.
• Reviews quality reports.
• Performs process and sub factory audits.
• Ensures procedures are followed and may develop procedures for the quality assurance inspection operation.
• Provides immediate supervision and guidance to inspectors, checking work at frequent intervals.
• Frequently interacts with outside customers, vendors and functional peer groups at various management levels and serves as a liaison between customer and the division regarding quality issues.
• Directs daily shift activities.
• Confers with management and production to define and hold up quality goals.
• Trains shift guidance to inspectors in quality processes.
• Holds up engineering and other functionalities in correcting employee errors.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team

• Requires Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering or related Engineering field.
• Requires minimum 3 years of experience in Quality Control / Quality Assurance within mechanical manufacturing environment.
• Familiar with Stamping, Assembly, Welding, Powder Coating, Machining or Metal Fabrication process.
• Hands on experience using Caliper, Micrometer, High Gauge, Profile Projector, CMM and other measurement equipment.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, QMS requirements, audits, NCR, corrective and preventive actions.
