Job summary

Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new company, Axiom, and seeks a Customer Quality Engineer based in Mechanical Plant Batu Kawan, Penang. You will maintain quality programs, standards, and improvements within the organization to support a dynamic, growth-focused team.

You will collaborate with Product Engineers, cross-functional teams, and customers to ensure quality, drive corrective actions, and sustain compliant processes across manufacturing

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• Typically requires minimum 6 years of Quality Engineering experience mechanical manufacturing industry.
• Familiar with Stamping, Assembly, Welding, Powder Coating, Machining, or Metal Fabrication processes.
• Hands-on experience using measurement tools such as Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Profile Projector, and CMM.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, QMS requirements, audits, NCR, CAPA, and continuous improvement practices.
• Experience in customer complaint handling, 8D problem solving, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and corrective action implementation.

Responsibilities

• Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation.
• Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating and reporting quality and reliability data.
• Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product or process quality and reliability.
• Holds up Product Engineers and Quality Program Managers with customer interfaces as necessary on quality related issues.
• Consolidates and reports quality results; initiates corrective action requests and tracks to completion.
• Assists with development and implementation of quality audits.

Job Summary

Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, Axiom, with the spin planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support Axiom, a company focused on critical digital infrastructure and delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications. To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Customer Quality Engineer located in Mechanical Plant Batu Kawan, Penang. In this role, you will be maintaining quality engineering programs, standards and improvements within the organization.

Typical Day Looks Like

• Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation.
• Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating and reporting quality and reliability data.
• Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost.
• Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product or process quality and reliability.
• Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities.
• Holds up Product Engineers and Quality Program Managers with customer interfaces as necessary on quality related issues.
• Assures data availability and integrity for all quality related data.
• Consolidates and reports quality results.
• Initiates corrective action requests as needed and tracks to satisfactory completion.
• Assists with development and implementation of quality audits.
• In charge of developing, applying, revising and maintaining quality standards for processing materials into partially finished or finished products.
• Designs and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and/or production equipment.
• Explores reports and returned products and recommends corrective action.
• Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement and research of equipment and facilities.
• Approves product, process and equipment qualifications.
• Provides liaison to various regulatory bodies.

The Experience We’re Looking to Add to Our Team
