Job summary

NewAge Products Inc. is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join our Quality Control team in Malaysia. You will perform pre-shipment inspections, container loading inspections, and in-house testing to ensure product quality and conformance to specifications.

The role requires attention to detail, strong English and Malay communication, and the ability to work in a manufacturing environment. Travel within Malaysia and occasional regional visits may be required.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education or equivalent in engineering or quality management.
• Ability to inspect various product types such as cabinets, worktops, racks, flooring, covers, gazebos, grills, fridges, ovens.
• Strong English and Malay communication skills, written and spoken.
• Demonstrate ownership and leadership in inspections and reporting.
• Experience in manufacturing/quality assurance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-shipment inspections (PSI) at supplier facilities to verify quality and conformance.
• Conduct container loading inspections (CLI) ensuring carton quality and load security.
• Perform in-house product testing and inspections as required.
• Conduct sample inspections for handmade or prototype items.

NewAge is looking for a Quality Control Inspector to join our Quality Control team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform Pre-Shipment Inspections (PSI) at supplier/manufacturer facilities to verify product quality, workmanship, functionality, packaging, labeling, quantity, and compliance with approved specifications, drawings, Customer Design Standards (CDS), inspection standards, and purchase order requirements.
• Conduct Container Loading Inspections (CLI) to verify product condition, carton quality, SKU/quantity accuracy, palletization, loading sequence, container condition, load security, and compliance with approved loading requirements.
• Conduct in-house product testing and inspections as required to verify product performance, functionality, workmanship, dimensions, and other product-specific requirements.
• Perform sample inspections for handmade, prototype, tooling, and development samples to verify product design, construction, dimensions, functionality, appearance, materials, and workmanship against approved drawings, specifications, approved samples, and requirements.
• Conduct Pre-Shipment Trial Order Inspections for new products, new suppliers, revised products, or trial orders to identify potential quality issues before mass production and shipment.
• Conduct re-inspections when required to verify that previously identified defects or non-conformances have been effectively corrected and that products meet applicable quality requirements before shipment.
• Prepare inspection findings presentations (PPTs) following sample inspections and other key inspections, clearly documenting findings, defects, risks, photographs, videos, recommendations, and required follow-up actions.
• Prepare accurate and detailed inspection reports, including inspection results, product information, defect details, photographs, videos, measurements, test results, and other supporting evidence.
• Upload and maintain inspection-related documentation in SharePoint, including inspection reports, PPT presentations, photographs, videos, audit reports, ECR/Engineering Change verification records, CAPA verification records, reinspection reports, and other required quality documentation following inspections, audits, ECR verification, CAPA verification, and other quality activities.
• Perform Process Audits / Factory Audits when required to evaluate manufacturing processes, quality controls, inspection systems, workmanship, process compliance, and adherence to approved procedures and requirements.
• Verify Engineering Changes (ECR/ECN) at supplier facilities to ensure that approved engineering, material, component, dimensional, functional, packaging, or process changes have been properly implemented and reflected in production.
• Verify the implementation and effectiveness of Corrective Actions and Preventive Actions (CAPA) by reviewing corrective-action evidence and conducting follow-up inspections or on-site verification when required.
• Identify and document quality non-conformances, assess their potential impact, and communicate findings to Supplier Quality Engineers (SQEs), suppliers, Senior QC Management, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams.
• Share inspection findings, quality concerns, supporting evidence, and required actions with SQEs, Senior QC Manager, and relevant cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Sourcing, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders as required.
• Make fact-based quality decisions using inspection results, measurements, photographs, videos, test data, approved specifications, drawings, standards, and other objective evidence.
• Work closely with SQEs, suppliers, Engineering, Product Development, Sourcing, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams to communicate inspection findings, clarify requirements, resolve quality issues, and support timely corrective actions.
• Attend weekly and other quality meetings with SQEs, suppliers, Senior QC Management, Engineering, and cross-functional teams as required. Meetings may take place during or after inspection hours depending on business and project requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Post-secondary education or equivalent in a field of study related to the position such as engineering or quality management.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in quality assurance, regulatory affairs, quality engineering and auditing, preferably in a manufacturing environment and/or consumer goods industry for metal, wood and plastic products.
• Demonstrate the ability and readiness to inspect various types of products, including but not limited to Cabinets, Worktops, Racks, Flooring, Covers, Gazebos, Grills, Fridges, Ovens, and other home improvement products.
• Support continuous improvement of supplier quality and inspection processes by identifying recurring issues, quality risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Demonstrate strong English and Malay communication skills, both verbally and in writing, to communicate effectively with suppliers, factory personnel, SQEs, and internal stakeholders.
• Uphold and support NewAge Products’ organizational goals, quality standards, policies, and values while maintaining a professional and collaborative relationship with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail, self-confidence, ownership, and leadership skills when conducting inspections and communicating quality decisions with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrate strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, for inspection reporting, data analysis, presentations, documentation, and communication.
• Maintain the ability to work effectively in a factory/manufacturing environment, including standing and walking for extended periods, moving around production areas, bending, and lifting moderately heavy objects when required to perform inspections safely and effectively.
• Follow applicable health, safety, factory, and inspection procedures while conducting inspections and supplier activities.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

• Willing and able to travel within Malaysia, Occasionally to Vietnam/Cambodia/Other Southeast Asian/East Asian Countries and to other global supplier locations to support product inspections, sample inspections, audits, engineering change verification, corrective-action verification, and other quality activities.
• Travel may be required for approximately 1-2 weeks at a time, depending on inspection schedules, supplier activities, projects, and business requirements.
